Scout Inc Matt Williamson thinks we could draft Floyd in 1st round

God tell me about it, I love the U, but I personally want nothing to do with Streeter and I don't even wanna spend the time developing him with any pick to be honest with you. I rather draft Broyles sometime in day 3 and sit on him for a year than draft Streeter.
Why? You'd rather have a 5'10 receiver with a blown knee that runs a 4.5 instead of a 6'5 guy who runs a 4.3?

Don't draft a WR in the first round!!!!...it's the biggest crapshoot position there is coming out of college.

If you have to, trade the pick for an established guy...

Obviously if his knee is no good, I don't wanna draft him, I'm assuming he will make a full recovery.

Broyles is a superior route runner to Streeter and IMO would upgrade Davone Bess out of the slot with a more explosive WR with great hands.

I think putting Streeter in Philbin's offense is like mixing oil and water  , Streeter needs so much work. Alot of upside but I'm confident that we would draft him, he would get cut and then someone else would roll the dice on that potential (Raiders, etc.)

TBH, the comfort level I have with Floyd being a #1 WR is extremely high. All of the tools are there and he was a beast since his freshman year. The biggest concern is off the field (and having a QB who can get him the ball consistently).

Certain guys you just know are gonna be solid WR's, IMO Floyd is one of those guys . . . it all depends on how comfortable teams are with him off the field.

Did you really think AJ Green was gonna bust? Dez Bryant is hurt quite a bit but if you watched this kid at Oklahama State you knew he was a great talent made for the NFL. Julio Jones IMO is not as good of a WR as Floyd. Better prospect because he is more athletic, but Floyd was a better route runner, better hands, better at making plays on the ball.

I dunno, I really like this kid and off the field stuff aside, with Marshall gone this is the guy I'm rolling the dice on.

Michael Floyd in the draft and Mario Manningham would make the best 1-2 wide receiver combo we've had since Fryar and Ingram. Make it happen!!

I think that street will come into his own in the league. The difference is that Broyles has played a lot more snaps in college. He should have been playing earlier if it wasn't for crappy Randy Shannon. I can see street being a James jones type in this offense. Remember that GB developed everyone of those receivers except for driver!

unless i'm mistaken broyles is supposed to work out for teams prior to the draft...

First 2 rounds I think will be a trade down. Phins get pass rusher and RT. Then WR and TE and then FS. Then mabe another WR.

Wow, I was under the impression that you would have to sit on him a year (IR) and you could nab him on day 3. Broyles is a good WR, not a #1 WR (though hella productive at OU) but man I could see him getting picked up by whatever team gets Manning and absolutely be dominant in the slot. Good hands, quick and solid route runner. More explosive than Bess. Next Victor Cruz right there.

Floyd is an absolute stud. His DUI's off the field might actually allow us to trade back a few slots, pick up a 3rd and possibly still draft him. My concern is that everything they've been saying about Philbin and organization wanting only high character guys, doesn't bode well for the prospect of them drafting this kid. However, if they did, that would make me feel much better about not having B Marsh.

First it was David DeCastro and now it is Michael Floyd everyone loves...Pass rusher at 8. No question in my mind that is how the team will go.

We are drafting a offensive lineman in the first round, we can get a good receiver in the second or third round. Matt Williamson doesn't know what he's talking about. I trust Matt Williams, former San Fransico Giant, more than I trust Matt Williamson.

i think we should get him, them double up with brian quick from appalchian state.

I am with you there. I love how this year it's different, these rcvrs are "really good", better than the long list of first rd flops at that position. Do they not think teams were not "extremely confident" in prior years when they drafted these flops? I think the top end talent in this draft is below average after the top 2QBs and the WRs overall are pretty weak. I think Couples is the guy if he is there just based on his unique physical attributes. Yes, I understand he is high risk and may flop. As Parcells said, "They don't sell insurance" for this thing.

I like Decastro also, but I've always been really high on Michael Floyd. I also liked Coples more than the other pass rushers at 8. Luke Kuechly grew on me as well.

Point is, when you sign Soliai and can put a line of Wake-Starks-Soliai-Odrick . . . with Merling and McDaniel as the primary backups . . . drafting a DE at 8 becomes a bit of an overkill, especially when you have a HUGE hole at WR after the Marshall trade. Now I have seen Jeff Ireland draft before and I know having some depth at a position has not stopped him from still adding to the position.

Still you wanna take the BPA if your Miami . . . and I have always thought that guy was Michael Floyd. Top 10 talent physically and a top 10 talent on film . . . if you are comfortable the problems he has had off the field in his past, its the best pick in my eyes. In Jeff Ireland eyes, it's probably Coples (I know you like Ingram but it would surprise me if Ireland goes after a guy his size) . . . the pass rusher . . . like you have suggested.
