Scout Inc Matt Williamson thinks we could draft Floyd in 1st round

I think that is fair...Ingram or Floyd in which the pass rusher is off higher value.

Michael Floyd and trade down should not be used in the same sentence.

If you want Floyd, you take him at 8. The guy has LEGIT #1 WR ability. Yea he was a college kid and he got drunk and got caught driving drunk. He was clean last season and hopefully his mistakes are behind him.

Best WR in this draft.

I don't see how anybody can justify taking Ingram over Floyd at 8. Floyd is a much better value. Ingram's arms are too short to be considered in the top 10. It is going to be an Achilles Heel at the next level.

Pass rushers are at a premium. You are going to downgrade a guy because of the length of his arms? Talk about overanalyzing. He can play anywhere in a pass rush situation. The question is not his arm length. The question is a DC willing to be creative with him.

WR's can be found all over the draft.

Floyd interests me and I would not hate the decision. I do think he is a diva and could find trouble in South Beach. However, I think he would translate well into Philbins's system.

Are they shorter then Zach Thomas' arms?

ingrams arms are a concern...i think floyd if he was clean off the field makes more sense in the top 10...but he's had not one but two alcohol related issues in college how you think he's gonna handle south beach with money in his pocket...i doubt if ireland will get the green light on that in the top 10 given we just traded a wr who couldn't stay out of trouble...

I doubt we pick a WR in the 1st round, If Philbin follows what green bay has done over the last few years (which he should) then dont expect them to draft a WR in round one, they definitely wouldnt reach for one. Also why would we trade Brandon Marshall who has character issues for a guy (Michael Floyd) who also has character issues? doesnt make sence.

I think Kendall Wright would be a better fit for what Philbin wants to do

b/t if we take tommy streeter in the top 3 rounds i will drop kick my television...

Ingram most definitely has shown some explosive ability as a pass rusher, no taking that away from him. But with the #8 overall, I'm not a fan and I do think his arm length is going to make it much more difficult for him in the NFL. Then he is also under 6'2" . . . ugh. We don't need to invest in a pass rusher that high, our line has 4 studs with Odrick-Starks-Soliai-Wake . . . why take a part time player over a guy who will step in as the #1 WR.

With Floyd, you have a legitimate top 10 talent in every aspect but the DUI's are a concern. I wouldn't necessarily say he is a diva but it is a definite concern that with the party life down here he doesn't get distracted.

For me Floyd >>>> Ingram for the Fins.

God tell me about it, I love the U, but I personally want nothing to do with Streeter and I don't even wanna spend the time developing him with any pick to be honest with you. I rather draft Broyles sometime in day 3 and sit on him for a year than draft Streeter.

i think kdawgs got it right...if you're gonna use a top 10 pick on a guy he better possess the ideal measurables and lb prospects under 6 ft 2 and short armed aren't that...floyd has all the measurables and is faster even then he plays on tape so if its b/t the two i'd go with the high level talent player with the measurables...not to mention floyds been damn productive and shows a sweet ability on tape to get off press man that will absolutely translate to the pros

New coach doesn't want an alpha reciever. I am quite sure we will not draft a WR in rd 1. I expect a defensive player in rd 1.

You don't think Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson are alpha guys? They are, just not alpha guys with attitude problems who put self before team and have a history of off field problems. That's why Marshall is no longer here....following guys like Moss and TO who have also been run out of towns for the same reason regardless of their talent level.

b/t if you've watched a lot of micheal floyd at the combine and in the college all star game festivities and on tape you'll know that he's a natural receiver of the ball...he has natural soft hands...he'll pluck the ball out of the air...he doesn't fight it...or let it get into his body...

its what you want in an nfl wr from a hands stand point...i see a lot of high end tools in this kid

Floyd is a monster. He absolutely dominated at Notre Dame. Would love to have him in a Fins uniform. This guy actually catches the ball in the endzone unlike Marshall.
