He appears to be a good receiver and had a good pre-season. But, it seemed surprising that we cut Rader when you read the scouting report.

I too am curious as to why we cut Rader to pick up a virtual unknown among Fin Fans... I didnt see anything special that would indicate this guy is anything with great potential, but I can't criticize Saban's judgement...
 
Well one thing I found interesting was that at 6-2 he has better leverage to play H back than Rader at 6-5, and we need versatility with all the injurys and suspensions going on...
 
This one is a mystery to me, Rader we knew what he brought to the table, This new TE, who knows :confused:
 
I think that it really SUCKS that we cut Rader.
 
I dont understand it either. Now if Peele or McMicheal goes down we can send in someone that doesnt know the playbook.
 
I trust Saban, but I would think Rader would be a better option, personally, b/c of his better blocking ability. Massaquoi caught several passes in the preseason and may help the passing game. But, I would think we'd want some more power up front - esp. given our mediocre OL situation.
 
Have to agree this is one move Saban has made that puzzles me, but I'll just have to trust Saban on this one, he knows SOMETHING that we don't! Just not sure what that something is.
 
I don't know who this guy is from adam......has he ever played in the NFL before?
