Its a simple play. Why cant this team run it? oh yeah, its never called. We have two great running backs and it would be deadly.especially on third and long when teams always blitz us. PLEASE COACH IMPLAMENT THE SCREEN!!!!!

I've had similar thoughts for a long time now. We have two excellent receiving RB's, we should be much better at running screens than we are.

We tried to screen and we did it on a first down.

Henning continues to disappoint.

Third down screens are literally the lowest percentage play in football. They are masochistic beyond belief. I used to work for a sports based statistical company and we'd all break down in a seizure of laughter when a team called a third down screen. Good teams simply are not going to allow you to throw a dainty safe play behind the line of scrimmage on third down, and waltz for a vital first down. They are blown up repeatedly. The success rate is less than 20%. I'm in shock when one works.

Fans seem to love screens, far beyond their value. Canes fans have been yelling for screens this year. Well, yesterday our offensive coordinator abused them against North Carolina, including three plays in a row at one point, and they failed miserably as a group.

I agree that more screens need to be called and 3rd down screens are give up plays.

Though, bubble screens might actually be something Ted can catch & where the phins could utilize his speed.

I couldn't believe that we threw a screen to Joey Haynos. Why would you ever call a screen to a 270 pound backup tight end?

The Colts just pulled off a third and long screen for a TD. Teams with freakish QB level can get away with just about anything. But if you chart every game you'll see what I mean. It's a low percentage play particularly for mid level teams.

Every team in the NFL runs the screen 5-10 times a game. I've been calling for us to do it since the season began but no one listens to me. Once we get that RB screen down our offense will be extremely efficient. We ran it a couple times today but excuted it poorly, good to see we arent completely mentally retarded.
