The first drive yesterday featured scripted plays and it seems for some reason that Harrington functions very well when he's being told exactly what to do. He is on pace, on target and looks like a guy that can play. Why when the regular plays begin does he appear to be so much less comfortable? I'm asking because I don't know and can we script a whole game tweaking it as situations dictate? As an afterthought: after the first pick, which was such a killer, he never seemed to bounce back. Why can't he shake stuff off?

them plays may be scripted...but when i watch them try to execute 'em, i still hear the "Three Stooges" doing the looptrack in my head (must be MM & his Offensive Henchmen...nyuk-nyuk!!)

Reasons he was kicked out of Det... Has the arm, throws the perfect ball...Blah blah id like see DC come back and try and play the last game tho, just to see if he has anything.

Joey is very good at the beginning of the game because the defense hasn't made any adjustments. The offense and defense are feeling each other out. Joey looks at the defense and knows exactly where the good matchup will be in one-on-one or where the hole will be in the zone.

After the first series, the defenses adjust and throw a different look at Joey. He is not great at reading adjustments and he will tend to make his decisions too quickly. That's why you often see ugly interceptions.

This is why I don't believe he can be a full-time starter in this league. He doesn't adjust to what the defense is trying to do.

Frank, thanks for the answer to my question. That makes sense. One would sure expect alot more from the #3 guy picked in his draft year.

I got news for ya, he is also being told to get the ball to CC. That is part of the problem.

I disagree. This is prime time Joey bashing all over again. Whatever. The real problem is he should just look for the damn open guy and tell the ******* crying for the ball to shut up! Get some Balls Joey and just get the ball to the right guy and forget CC. He is not all that! Our guys who make plays are Booker and Welker. Thats it. CC comes in occasionally for his play or two, but never fights for the ball. He has no fight in him. Same with Mcmicheal.

Joey H. is not a leader when it comes right down to it. He has the tools but he just needs to let the game come to him and manage it and forget what the world says cus you win games that way, you dont lose them and you dont end up looking like the idiot.

Harrington is great when he can go up to the line, read the defense, snap the ball and throw it quickly. The reason we see so many second half breakdowns from him is due to the fact that the defense adjusts to his reads and Joey can't recover in time to make the play. He's always been like this, and I don't think we're ever going to see better from him.

Joey played great until the pick. After that, he stunk. Why?

Because his moral goes down super quickly when it comes to Football and mistakes. All those years of being told it was his fault in Detroit has ruined any potential he had at becoming a good QB mentally.:(

Pyro, I agree but what a shame that is. The poor guy makes one mistake and gets nutlock for the rest of the game. If he's being told to get the ball to CC that's OK with me as long as he's smart about it. CC had his best game of the year against Jacksonville so that's a good thing. McMichaels career is just going backwards IMO. He's not a bigtime playmaking tightend. Ben Watson, for the Pats, is better IMO. So are alot of other tightends in the NFL. He could be helping us much more than he is. That's life I guess.
