Sean Lee tears ACL

It's a cliche but the most important ability a player has is availability.

I wonder how he tested medically at the combine. From what I understand they hook you up to these machines that grab and twist your legs and test for ligament and tendon flexibility. I know that they put Marino through one of those machines and they told him he was going to have bad knee issues, which he did. Sometimes a player will fall in the draft and it's a mystery to all of us and it's because of how they tested out on those machines (I think one of them is called the Cybex).

Anyway the Cowboys might have known this sort of thing could happen and decided to roll the dice. You never know. I remember that a picture of their draft board got leaked that year and they thought they were getting a steal. So he might have fallen compared to the general view of his tape thanks to his medical evals.

Agreed, BUT they had no backup plan whatsoever. I mean, granted, they are the team we have tried to emulate over the past decade, so I can't really knock them too much.

Maybe its a good thing we didn't draft Zack Martin. Reaking havoc on your own players in OTA's, not good.

 ****, I wish our line's biggest issue was that it played too hard ON the field (both in practice and in the game).

Want to know why the Cowboys are one of two teams (along with the Steelers) already over the projected $130 million cap, and consistently dealing with cap issues? This quote from Stephen Jones says it all: “Our philosophy over time has been that what you know is better than what you don’t know.” That means the Cowboys would rather retain their more expensive veteran players who may not live up to their salary than just go with cheaper younger players. That may have been OK in previous years, but it’s burned them with the flat cap since ’11. No wonder the Cowboys haven’t finished better than .500 the past four years.

Ive linked this several times during other issues, but its worth linking again. Giving bucket loads of cash to a player who hasnt been able to stay healthy the past few years is in keeping with the Cowboys philosophy.

Predictable injury is predictable. Now if you all will excuse me, i have to go watch Louis Delmas start every game at safety.

Don't forget Albert at LT. Who is our backup LT again?
