Let me say, Sean Smith seems like a very good 'cover' guy, staying in close proximity to his man.....Great, but why cant he use his arms?

He cant catch or cant tackle. Is it fear? i.e getting hit after the catch & scared to give the hit?

Im not sure, but he is a big corner and if he had half the balls of a small corner such as Antoine Winfield he would be a very good all round corner, but IMO, until he correct this he is letting Vontae down with his claim for best tandem in league.

He doesnt want to mess up his pretty face or lose an earing.

Because he is a gutless pansy.

Simply no way to fix it.

Well he did lead the league in a stat...dropped passes
but more alarming is we as a defensive unit dropped 19 interceptions last season
the average for other teams was 6.The Pats had 2 dropped interceptions ALL SEASON.

Sad to see it looks like we're going down the same road
are the coaches so blind that they can't focus on what every Miami Dolphin fan
can clearly see??

Keep the defensive backs after every practice to prove a point
have them catching passes over and over
It roasts my AZZ that the DBs talk crap yet when it comes to turnovers
the group is one of the worse in the NFL

Not to mention Sean Smith is afraid of contact, that one play last night on Lagarret Blounts long gain. Blount came around the corner,Smith dropped his head and whiffed, then Blount kept running, instead of tackling,he swiped at the ball and Blount went another 15 yards!!!

He's been tackling well...Way better than his rookie season. No reason to complain about his tackling honestly.

I went to several practices this month and didn't see them work on tip drills or catching drills at all. It really surprised me because of what happened last year. Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals. If you don't work on them you shouldn't expect anything to change.

Sean Smith looks like a bean pole running around. Built like Olive Oil on the Popeye cartoon. He has never been a tackler and doubt he ever will be. He's way too soft and plays with all finesse.

Been saying since he was drafted, one of the softest players I've ever seen. I want someone to run him over, wake his *** up. Dude is playing flag football out there.

Smith has matured but he will never be a pro bowler until he puts the extra work. His *** should have been fighting Reggie Bush foir the jugs machine after every practice. If you are known for drops...you have to work on not dropping the ball.

You can't teach heart though...Deion never tackled nor will Sean...our only hope is that he becomes an elite cover guy.

Why don't we all just wait until the games really mean something to start blasting on Sean Smith again his year. I actually thought the swipe wasn't such a bad idea at that point in the game cause you never know when something like that will be a difference maker in a real game, so why not try to perfect it? It's still preseason people and everyone still seems to think they have a better plan, sure it would of been better if he just went for the tackle there but if he pop's the ball out and we get it, we take any points away from Tampa and Smith looks like a genious...then the Sean Smith threads would look much different here wouldn't they?
