I was wondering why noone has this kid going in the 1st rd. Hes ranked higher then Alphonso Smith and most people have us taking him in the 1st? He is huge @ 6'3 and 205lbs. please let me know if there are any negatives like injuries/speed/ coverage concerns? thanks.

I think a nice draft would be either Sean Smith or Alphonso Smith with the 1st,
2nd-Kenny Britt/H.Hicks/Ramses Barden
2nd- ron brace

I do. I think he is the best corner not named Malcolm Jenkins in this draft. Sean Smith will go in Round 1, book it.

FYI I have him going #23 to the... Patriots

i think he is the best corner not named vonte davis or malcolm jenkins. i like a saftey like delmas better than i like any corner, a corner takes time to learn saftey can come right in.

Yes but we can get Sean pick #25 and get Delmas in our first 2nd round pick and if delmas is gone there is always hope for Rashad Johnson

Smith is a 2nd rd talent at best. With his lack of 40 times, he wont play corner, He will be at Safety.

that is all well and good but if you "waste" the second on Delams you cant get brace who will be gone by 2b. goodman and allen are fine for now. get a starting caliber player with every pick.

Sean Smith is a bit of a "tweener"...which in pre draft terms for a defensive back is the opposite of "versatile"...which hurts his stock at this point..

However, I project Smith as a free safety in the NFL...not cornerback...

Smith obviously has the clear size advantage over all the top safety prospects in this draft...which could lead to him being the first one to come off the board on draft day...as he is also the fastest...

He'll test well at the combine...

Goodman and Allen do not play Delmas's position, but you could say the same about being fine for now with Ferguson at NT.

Yup, exactly. He doesn't really have a position that he can say is his home. Any time you look at a player and have to ask "where do I put him?" it makes his value drop.

kinda like jason allen... who cant find his position that he excels at

Plus he has only played CB like for 1 year I believe, maybe 2, but he is RAW at the position. If he is rated higher than Alphonso . . . it is only because of height, because Alphonso is the best CB in this draft in terms of being a CB, he falls because he is only 5'9 . . . Will Allen is a shade under 5'10 . . . so we have had success with smaller CB's before.

I would pass on Smith, I like Davis, DJ Moore, Delmas, Alphonso Smith and Rashad Johnson as DB's that I would take over Smith.

Interesting. You seem to have changed your tune dramatically considering that 2 months ago you said he wouldn't go in the first 3 rounds when I said he was the best draft eligible corner in the nation.

Sean Smith remnds me to much of Mike Rumph (the CB the 49ers drafted 5 or 6 years ago who was a bust).
