I know this will offend some of you that worship him but he a sissy when it comes to tackling on running plays. I think vontae will be the better of the two cb. i hope he works on it this off season. maybe puts some meat on those bones.

That's "one" of the reasons why teams have been running well to the left in recent games.

When you have Smith, a slow Ayodele on that side at ILB, and Porter who stinks against the run, why wouldn't teams run to that side ???

I saw SS blocked to the ground on some of those DeAngelo runs to the left the week before. About 85% of DeAngelo's yards in that game were to the left.

If other teams were smart, they would pull their right guard and run more sweeps to the left. If I was planning to play Miami, I would have that in my gameplan as a given. And run it early and often.

And next year we better have Vontae and Smith able to switch sides. Opposing teams are getting mismatches by moving their receivers around putting them on the corner they believe they can beat. Smith is a guy that should be on the opposing teams' tall receiver, and Vontae on the shorter quicker ones.

By the start of next year they should have the experience to be able to play both sides. Both of them played both sides in college, and they made good plays from both sides....so there is no excuse.

When your linebackers cant cover anyone your forced to man up people with your safety's.
Meaning your Cb's are one on one.
Vonte can get picked on at times out there.
He is the better tackler by a mile. Thats without question.
Smith has made solo tackles on rb's this year he can get the job done but having him look at a guard and a rb and there are no lb's flowing its asking a lot of a guy who didnt want to tackle college rb's

i guarantee we will be lb heavy in this next draft. hopefully we pick up a stud wr via free agency and go defensive heavy in the draft.

i notice that they love to run towards smith. sean needs to hit the weights this upcoming summer.

I've noticed this as well. Seems like Sean Smith is hesitant to stick his nose in there and hit somebody. Then again, so was Gibril Wilson yesterday.

LOL Yeah , You can tell he shy's away from contact. Gibril too!

I agree, and it wouldn't surprise me to see both OLB and ILB addressed early. imo, he drafts mostly defense this year

my questions is how is vontae going to splain how he got torched at a crucial time in the game to the critics. he needs to shut up and play ball.

Sean Smith tackles? When?

If Sean Smith was a good tackler he would have been a first round pick (probably ahead of Vontae Davis)

Sean smith makes Dion Sanders look like Ray Lewis.

Did people think Smith was a good tackler? One of the knocks on him coming out of college was his poor tackling. He has been missing tackles all year. Did you just notice this? He is playing because of his coverage skills not his tackling.

Amen. With that said, these kids are doing a pretty good job.

I think (but could be wrong) he missed the tackle on Lynch that got the Bills extra yards prior to the 56 yard FG attempt. Had that tackle been made...perhaps the outcome of the game is different. Of course, the game didn't hinge on that ONE tackle. But it was just another missed opp from yesterdays game.

go in your backyard and dive horizontally with your arms extended and come up with nothing but air...

congratulations...you are now a member of the sean smith tackle club
