Vontae Davis is obviously getting all the attention at QB in discussions.... i want to bring up Sean Smith.

a kid with elite high, speed, and hands... able to make plays on the ball. he just hasn't played CB all that long, but sis said to be a great worker and learned. Can Bowles bring this kid together to come in and face top WR's that we'll face in our division all year long??? there are a lot of WR's to worry aboot, but I am actually very pumped on this pick of Sean Smith.

what are your thoughts?

I don't think his speed is elite. I believe he ran a 4.53 40. Unless I am confusing him with Patrick Turner. Still I am excited about this guy. If he can put it all together he could be dominant. You can't teach 6'3" and if he can move at that height he will be able to cause some serious problems for opposing offenses.

Patience!!! Its gonna take some patience with this kid. He has the measurables, but I dont think he's ready to handle the big boys as of yet. Like you said, not all that experienced.

He doesn't have anything close to elite speed and he has the worst vertical I've ever seen for a CB.

He has the same vertical I have and i'm 50 years old and fat.

If he can be a good backup safety I'll be happy.

Of course a safety that doesn't want to tackle would not be a good thing either.

I thought Sean Smith ran a 4.4? Not to mention I already went over that because he is 6'3"-6'4" his vertical is not that bad and he gets up pretty high still.

Wait this dude is 6'4 with a 34 inch vetical and a arm span that belongs to a 6"8 person. Really how freaking high does he have to jump nobody his going to out jump this guy esp with those long arms.

he ran a 4.45 and at 6'3 215 that is pretty damn good he should be and looks to be the real deal i would not be surprised if he is better than vontae i thought he was the best out of all the cb's coming out this year..

He ran around a 4.5... at 6-4, he certainly doesnt have to have a high vert with his armspan

so your saying you have the vertical of a 6'8 guy i doubt that very much!!!!!!!

His 40 time is no worse than anyone else at the combine. He was only 2/100s of a second slower than Vontae. I actually think that there was something wrong with the clocks at the combine. Even the WRs, for the most part, were slow. You have got to be kidding about his vertical. At 6'3.5", makes his 34" vertical equivalent to someone jumping 40" at 5'11" when you factor in his arm length and the greater angle of trajectory that the ball will have to travel.:D

I like him better than Butler and Jenkins. Basically, we got the two CB's I hoped we would. Though, I didn't have enough information to dispel the Davis' rumors about his character, so I was pleasantly surprised when we drafted him.

lets stay away from the numbers, he is obviously tall with wingspan, he has good speed (especially for his size), and has a decent vertical we will say.

i am pumped more for his ability to learn quick in colelge and turn himself into a playmaker at CB, now can he continue to develop and turn his game positive as a CB in the NFL... definitely ened patience with it, i agree with the first comment up top!!!

I love the pick, but dont think he will start this year, maybe a contributer next season. Will Allen's contract runs up after this year so we'll see how his contract negotionations go...but look for Sean to step up to the plate is Allen doesnt come back! Hope camp is very competitive regardless!
