Isn't this what we specifically drafted him for? I'm calling Sean Smith out! He needs to show up, step up and have a big game!

It's no secret the Patriots think they are going to have an easy task in picking apart our young inexperienced secondary. But if you ask Drew Brees, after 3 INT's it wasn't a walk in the park.

If I recall correctly, I read somewhere that the last time we played the Patriots, Randy Moss stated he felt disrespected by applying single coverage on him all game and that is why he torched us the second game.

It's time for Sean Smith to step up and show us what he is made of. This may be his biggest test of the season.

Push offs??

Sean Smith has to has to deal with Randy Moss's push offs that the refs never call on him! Especially on fades and quick passes near the goal line.

I agree. But i think more importantly we need to contain welker. if we stop him on 3rd down and get the d off the field i'm okay with brady try to go deep with double coverage on moss. I'd like to see our LB and safeties light up welker again and put some fear in his eyes. once he's rattled then we just surround Moss with everyone and their mama.

I think the way to throw off welker is have roth or JT or JP simply put him on his *** within the 5 yards roth is what like 270+ just jam him that extra second will help us alot.

I love the fire and tenacity Smith has he has done very well considering who he has had to cover im sure even omeone like Bailey or Asomougha would tell us how good he is playing. BUT you are right if he steps up and just contains doesnt have to shut him down....if Moss has TO like numbers what was that 3 or like 50 Smith should prob get the game ball. He knows this is his time with the pick 6 and he big hits last week Vontae is coming out of his shell and opening his wings time for Smith to do the same Smith should point to his back as moss chases him on the way to Smiths house-call. Disrespect this single coverage MOSS

I sure hope so.....this is exactly what I want to see.

He is going to take his lumps, just like any other rook. Lets hope he can use good technique and even those lumps out with a couple of INT's!!!

Hope we Putty Patrol their *****.

Playmaker? What has he done this year? And a fancy int in a exhibition game
doesn't count

My take on Sean Smith is that he is "grabby" at CB. What I mean is he plays really good with his hands and arms. He has long arms. So does Randy Moss. That makes this a really good match-up. Physically speaking and skill-wise, Smith and Moss match up well. And personality-wise, they both have a lazy, swagger about them. Playmakers usually look like that.

Smith is younger and more fit than Moss. He should be able to beat Moss most of the day. My biggest concern with Smith is not his covering ability, but rather his ability to tackle and hit. He sometimes looks soft when he tackles. He will need to get off of Moss and get to the play when being blocked.

If he's grabby on the road, he'll get flagged.

Skill-wise, moss is in a league of his own. the only thing that equalizes them is age. experience wipes out that advantage. If the Fins leave Smith one on one with Moss, Fins lose.

They could have gotten away with that earlier in the year, when Brady was working on regaining his timing & touch, but not at this point. smith is not revis at this point.

both smith and davis will have to cover moss at one point or another in the game. our secondary just needs to have a near perfect game. same with the pass rush.

Sparano would be smart to double team Moss. I think Davis will have most of the coverage though, with his speed. He's not as tall but he is more physical than Smith. Only thing that scares me are the infamous pass interference calls.

He does have eight pass deflections this season. I would say that those are good plays.

not to give us bad luck or nething but honestly sean smith is gunna torched out there by moss all day sunday. Im predicting a 365 yard day for brady. Moss 3 tds. Yea our secondary is that bad....

Nathan Jones on Welker is gonna be the key.. Considering that we all believe we will stop their rushing attack. The middle of the field has been open all year on defense. So Welker and Watson need to be contained..
