@ProFootballTalk: LB Sean Spence is visiting Dolphins tonight, per source.

Have always been a big fan of him nice fit

Damn, better than the montana crap weve been drafting!

Love this!! I loved him at the U & to see his determination to comeback from his major knee injury speaks volumes about him. I actually kept up with him since he was on my fantasy football team (play d players) & he was solid. Hope we sign him.

Love him but he'll never have the same ceiling after that gruesome knee injury

:idk: who cares about potential ceiling, is he a better mlb backup than trusnik? Id take that right now lol

We need a passable backup mlb incase Kiko goes down again

Sweet! Always have had a soft spot for him, even as a depth guy.

Loved this kid, undersized but was a baller for the canes. Was my favorite cane on those teams along with cooper and Ray Ray

I think this would be a good move for Spence and the Phins. He & Stevenson Sylvester (from the U here in SLC) were drafted by the Steelers whivh IMO made no sense... neither were or are 3-4 ILB's

It would not bother me to see the phins do their due diligence on Curtis Lofton just released by the Raiders.

UK - you are normally accurate but I'm surprised that you raise Trusnik's name. He was cut by the Dolphins a year ago.

He's also an asset on special teams and had a tackle that likely saved a touchdown on a fake field goal attempt by the Ravens.

At 5-11 and 231 pounds, Spence, 25, is a high-effort player who could provide quality depth behind Kiko Alonso, Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins, with the ability to be a competent starter if needed.

And it would be a nice homecoming for a player who grew up in Miami and ended up being the best of the eight players from Miami Northwestern in that ballyhooed 2008 Randy Shannon recruiting class that was rated No. 1 in the country.

Also visiting the Dolphins tonight: backup quarterback Brandon Weeden, as Miami continues its search for Matt Moore's replacement.

In three years with the Browns and parts of last season with the Cowboys and Texans, Weeden has 31 touchdown passes, 30 interceptions and a career 76 passer rating. He's 6-19 as a starter and has won one of his last 10 NFL starts.

Weeden is visiting in the wake of Luke McCown canceling his Friday Dolphins visit and re-signing with the Saints

This is why if we don't draft Shaq Lawson, I'd be happy w/ Ragland at 13. I know lots of Fins fans think he's a reach and a 2 down LB, but he tested well at the combine, he played against the best college competition, and he's very instinctual. He's a thumper and he studies film...I'd love to have him running the Fins D as I think he'd be a great influence.

If you put Misi at SLB, Ragland at MLB, and Alonso at WLB (Alonso doesn't play like a MLB IMO and he's injury prone)...I think the LB corps would be excellent. Jenkins would be the first guy off the bench and you know he'll get PT as he'd fill Kiko's slot.
