I cannot help, but think of the end of the 2010 season when looking at this current Dolphins team. Miami was "in the hunt" going into December. However, awful play down the stretch doomed the team. I cannot help, but see similarities.
In 2010:
* Miami lost 4 of 5 down the wire. They had ugly losses to Cleveland (13-10), Buffalo (17-14), Detroit (34-27) and a drubbing by New England (38-7).
* The only win was on the road in ugly fashion versus the Jets 10-6.
* The team seemed to quit in the last few games for the most part.
* When the team needed the QB to step up, he did not answer the call.
* They had a coach that looked likely to be fired. Yet, when the smoke cleared he ultimately returned for another season.
Currently:
* The only win the Fins have to hang their hat on recently was an "ugly" win at New York.
* In a game they had to have, the team ended up playing uninspiring football yesterday.
* They have a trip to New England that will undoubtedly end up like the score in 2010.
* When more was needed from the QB, he could not deliver.
* Philbin appears to be a coach on hot seat, but I think Ross will ultimately brings him back.
* While I do think they will win another game, the record will be about the same 7-9 vs 8-8. If they do get bombed in New England, they have winnable games at home vs. Minnesota and New York. Do they win those games unlike 2010 when they played and lost to bottom feeders such as the Browns, Bills and Lions?
