Just a fan...
Like a lot of people, I am excited about the 2009 Dolphin season. I know I was not expecting a move from 1-15 to 11-5 last year. And now before preseason, before training camp, heck before most minicamps everything looks great. It is a season of light and hope. Even pathetic franchises like Detroit can feel hope this time of year. I don't want to dump a cooler of Gatorade on everyone, but nothing has been proven yet concerning our new additions. They are exciting, and I am looking forward to seeing them play. I do remember many a draftee who looked good and smelled good before the season and stunk it up and got cut when the real action started. I like hearing about all their college exploits, but I too remember being seduced by the Beast from BYU (BFB) who had impressive YouTube videos but less than stellar on-field performance (so far). Being new to this forum, i do enjoy the give and take here and enjoy hearing the insights from those of you who know more about football than I do (which seems to be about everybody). I don't know if any of the new rookies will make the Hall of Fame or even the team. I do think that the FO is out to put together a championship team, not a mediocre team. I hope everything pans out for the best. Given our seemingly tough schedule. and still being in rebuilding mode, it could be a long year or a great year. Go DOLPHINS!
That being said, what do you think will be the area where our team will struggle the most in 2009? (And even good teams have areas needing improvement.)
My vote: offensive line. I don't know that we have depth yet up front. I think once Smiley and Thomas went down, the line play suffered, and a lot depends on whether they come back to the form they showed last year.
