What up everyone first time poster but long time reader... Just want to weigh-in on this years record!
If you will remember we lost a bunch of games last year late I chalk that up to coaching(mostly) if we win our share of those games were 7-9. I believe that this years roster will turnout to be better than last year, particularly since our rookies will not have to contribute immediately. The veterans that are initially in front of them on depth charts ect...will need a spell mid to later in the season which will mean not a very prononced hitting the "rookie wall" I love our mix and coaching. I'm not saying 10-6 or anything like (although possible) that but 8-8/9-7 is very achievable (barring critical injuries). But I'm on record w/ 9-7. the running game will be much improved but we will need a QB that can consistently win games, we don't have that now. That is what seperate mediocre teams from very good championship contending teams.

Agree, and WELCOME!!

I agree with you completely, i think Miami has a very, very realistic chance of being 7-9. Which in a first season for a college coach making the transition to the NFL with a god awful team last year, i think that's a great job. I think Miami potentially could be 9-7, at best. That to me means a series split with Buffalo and New England, which i dont think will happen. But if Miami does win over New England and Buffalo, then i think they could be 9-7 if they win games they should win. I think they will split with the Jets who are over rated, have no secondary, QB problems, and other issues.

With all facts and opinions considered, and what little I know about football I'm thinking this is going to be a better year than most think. A talented oline unit and well reputed oline coach, fresh legs in the backfield (including ricky) with his bonds-like self imposed vacation from responsibility(but he's still a great rb IF he wants to be, a new head coach with the rep of making teams come to their potential, a defense with a real nice mix of solid veterans and fast agressive rookies, combine all that with a overall feeling of a fresh start. IMO I think the Dolphins go 11-5 winning the division outright starting by ambushing the broncos. The phins have a rep of opening day wins, except just recently, remember football psychology is not just with kickers. This year IMO just seems to have a fresh start feel to it, with all newness in the right place and solidity of vets in the right place. The panthers did about the same thing a while back with about the same facts in place. Phins!...worst to 1st! go phins!:beerbang:

Tell that to Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer and Jeff Hostetler

At best!!! Not in this day and age. They could be as bad as 6-10, but they also have enough talent to be 12-4 (similar to San Diego last year). In fact, I would argue that across the board they are a more talented team than San Diego. Read all the preseason predictions about them before last season.

IMO Miami's biggest questions are RB, QB, and first year coach. I think Feeley will get the nod as starter. Your rookie RB is unproven and nodody can guess at how he'll do. Ricky..Is he in it for the game or the money? How will Saban use him? Can he come back to his old form? Too many questions..no answers. Not to be a Homer but unless JP totally falls flat on his face, I think the Bills will sweep Miami again..at least this year. The Pats? They will have a few chinks in the armour that weren't there last year. This being mostly due to the losses of Crennel and Weiss. Billy Boy is going to call all the offensive plays and give Brady more play calling ability on the field. This will be the real test of how good " all around" Brady really is. Actually Miami showed the league how to beat the Pats. Pressure the hell out of Brady!!! The Pats have one tough schedule for the first 1/2 of the season as well. Bottom line, I think the AFC East is still going to be tough but there are other divisions that will challenge that big time this year.

I am having a real hard timing coming up with my cut on the record...there are so many games that are real hard to guess at this point...I am getting very excited about this year and think we will compete in pretty much every game...but I can see us losing the close ones, so I'll go 8-8, with us coming on strong late in the season, keeping some AFC East team out of the playoffs (sorry jets), and splitting with the patsies again.....GEAUX FINS!!
