Hey guys. I lurk a lot and rarely post. I’m planning on going to the game Sunday but I have some questions. I haven’t been since they’ve renovated. Also I’m bringing a child for the first time ever (soon to be seven). I’m looking at upper deck tickets

1. What’s the sun/shade situation in the upper deck on the visitors sideline? Is there any part that is full shade all game?

2. I’m noticing lots of cheap options in sec 301 and 302 compared to other similar sections in the other corners. Is there a particular reason for that?

3. Back when I had seasons tickets I’d generally arrive when the lots opened so traffic was never anything I dealt with. This time I’m thinking about a closer to gametime arrival. Coming off the turnpike what’s the situation on time/parking?

Thanks for any input.

The upper deck is in the shade no matter what section.

If you pull in within an hour of game time you will be seated before kickoff.... but you'll miss stuff that your kid will enjoy.

Thanks for the feedback. Fortunately he’s been plenty disappointed watching on TV so seeing it in person shouldn’t be too much of a shock to the system

Take him over and around the outside of the stadium to the fan zones and plaza. Maybe a walk throught the team store.

I would get there about 11:30...

Since the time change the lower rows in the upper level on the visitor side might still be in the sun. Go a little higher.

If you park an hour before game time you will not be in your seats by game time.

This is good stuff. It’s my first time doing this as a Dad so figuring out arrival times so he can soak in the right things is key. Appreciate the advice guys.

301 and 302 you'll be fine regarding the sun. It will be directly behind you. Only problem is distance from the field especially in a high row.

There are absolutely sun issues on the other side of the stadium, let's say sections in the 320s. Those spectators will have the sun in their face much of the game and especially in the lower rows. The roof protects from rain but can't take away the basic reality of the angle of the sun.

Congrats, dude. Nothing more beautiful than a pops and his son at the ballpark. I wish you both a perfect day and a lifetime of a great memory.

Thanks. I’m excited. He’s been asking all season so I know it will be great. Some of my best memories with my Dad were doing stuff like this

Same with my son and daughter, that’s one of the main reasons I still go. My daughter pleades with me to keep the tickets, just imagine if she got to see Marino etc? Wish the team had more success.

You might want to come earlier and stop by our tailgate.

In regards to arrival: though the stadium won't be full when you park an hour before game time you will hit the tailgaters at the gates and the crossovers (which are now limited to the corners only). There is a lot of stuff for your little one. Best is to come early, stop by our tailgate and then hit the fun with your boy.:pbj:

I remember the first time my son and I tailgated. He was at the tender age of 7. We had a little hibachi grill and a couple of wooden chairs and grilled some bratwurst and hot dogs. we looked like a hobo and his little boy among all those tents and stuff. But he was hooked.

One of those it was

Thanks. I may stop by. I saw your tailgate thread and your setup is excellent
