Seattle Times: Miami position to make bigger, better offer to Matt Flynn

Nope, they stated many times they don't want him....looks like da Phinz are the only team that really want him....and that's not good

perhaps most QB needy teams already realized the connection that Flynn has to Philbin and simply decided to not make any effort to try to sign him and placed their emphasis elsewhere. they figured it was shoo-in he was going to Miami and therefore simply backed away.

That's not good? It's not good that the only person outside of GB that REALLY knows how good Flynn can truly be is our HC and the reason behind us going after Flynn. It's not good that two teams that have been atrocious at evaluating the QB position aren't making a push at him but one would prefer Alex Smith. Seems to be a blessing. Philbin's putting his ass on the line for Flynn and I'm certain it's the right move.

Flynn was the best option. That goes for Manning, Smith, Moore, Tannehill....he is our best option. Period. Miami makes a splash and gets a franchise QB or they eff everything up and draft a QB looking to rebuild.

Actually if the Phins really wanted him and no one else did then it would be good from a financial standpoint. Miami has the guy who coached Flynn the last 4 years so he knows if he is any good. I am not sold on Flynn but the less competition the better the price we get him for.

Well hopefully this keeps his price tag down, with the luke warm interest in him.....its seems like all teams are giving us the chance to sign him without any real push.....is this because the relationship he has with our coach or he's not that good? Only bring this kid in if the price is right, I can live with Matt Moore another yr if the other option is killing the cap for a back up QB.....

The only way I'm unhappy with Flynn as our QB is if he comes at a high price.

If we give him too much money, more than he is worth this team is going to look ridiculous.

A fair contract for Flynn would be a nice step in the right direction in my opinion

Everyone is assuming that Philbin sees him as immediate starter and he's his chosen one. It doesn't appear to be the case. Flynn would have been sign already if they were really that high on him. It seem to me Philbin sees him as some one who can compete for starting job at back up QB salary.
