I have been VERY impressed by the 2nd half adjustments that Saban and Co. make.. They always seem to work.. That is somethign that is so refreshing compared to the last regime.. With Wanny, comebacks were a rarity, but 2nd half meltdowns were almost common..

Now, if they absolutely suck the first half, you just KNOW they wont suck in that same capacity during the second half.. That is just nice to know.. Now I can stick around for the entire game even if it looks hopeless early on. :)

No doubt if Wanny is still coach we tank the second half and get blown out about 34-3 or so.

how bout if we did not need any adjustments

There hasn't been a game yet this year where adjustments weren't needed at the half.

I agree with the original post. It is a refreshing change. I have confidence in the coaching staff to make the right changes each game. Something I haven't had for quite some time.

Every game needs second half adjustments, even when you are winning. The whole idea is to look at what they are doing and then adjust your scheme/plan to better take advantage of their weaknesses. That is a good thing to do when you are winning and an essential thing to do when losing. We have done well the second half of our games because of those adjustments. Now if we can just stop shooting ourselves in the foot we can come out of the gate strong and finish strong. There is really no reason the Dolphins shouldn't be 4 - 0 right now if the players would have executed well. The coaching is great and I love Saban's second half adjustments.

Well punting isnt a sin to him so I would expect a bigger blow out.

I posted this same thing yesterday. It is quite refreshing to see this than watching "Wad" ball continue.

P.S. Who get's excited on a deep throw instead of cringing under the old regiment?

While I agree completely with the great half time adjustments and appreciate having a really good coaching staff, I can't help but wonder if our initial gameplan is lacking something. We need to be as prepared for the first half as we are the second. One step at a time, Rome wasn't built in a day. Looking forward to Ricky's return this week!!

That's one of the constants we've had all year. In the second half, the defense applies the clamps and bows up.

Interestingly enough, it seems like the opposing team always has some success running against us on their first series of the second half. After that, it's lights out.

McGahee finished with 2.8 ypc. On 31 carries.

Man, are you so right!!!! I was watching the game at a local bar and mentioned the same thing at half time. If Wanny was still here the game was all over with and I could have gone home and spent time with my wife....not any more! This is a very different Dolphins team and the guys at the bar were unanimous in thinking that with the players & coaches we have this year there's no telling how many points could be scored.

Then we would have to hope we didn't get caught. The only way you could expect to know all that the other team put in to take away what you do on offense, or attack what you do on defense, is to have someone watching their practices. Since that is not legal, we would have to hope we didn't get caught.

Their are changes that can be made at half time to adjust to how you are being played. Under the last regime they were never addressed. Now we have a staff that can make those.

We've still let through 0 3rd quarter points going into week 6.

And only let in one touchdown as a side note.
