Just curious to who you guys like better,I live in Tennessee and have seen Mayo play, but have not seen Lofton hardley at all.Although I've heard he has speed an is a good hitter.:DThanks

I am, of course, biased since I am a season ticket holder at the University of Oklahoma but I can tell you that Curtis Lofton is the real deal. The guy is a pure football player and will make plays. I would love to see him in a Dolphin uniform but there is no way he lasts long enough. :(

Dan Connor and/or Quentin Groves each have a good chance of dropping to #32. Lofton is my next choice. Or go for Wheeler in the 3rd or Bell in the 4th. I'd be happy getting any of them.

Madman, I love your mock draft. I have been thinking Jameel McClain will be a Fin for a while. Why? Syracuse boy, and tons of Syracuse links on our staff. Plus, a big man at LB, which is exactly what this regime wants. Awesome draft.

I saw more than my share of Tennessee and Oklahoma games this past season. I just don't see Jerod Mayo being nearly as good as Curtis Lofton. Lofton is one of the players in this draft that I sit back and say "wow, I wish he was on my team."

To me, he is a bigger Zach Thomas. Non-stop motor, good coverage skills, top-flight intangibles. I think he is faster than Zach though. Certainly somebody I see in the middle for us for a decade or so.

Lofton doesnt have speed where as mayo does. I like both to be honest.

Jerod Mayo more than likely will not be available @ #32. I look for him to be the NY Giants selection @ #31

Mayo will likely be gone 32, either to San Diego,San Fran or the Giants.

I myself would like Dan Connor, but I agree that Lofton seems like a great football player. My only hesitation, and it's probably not a fair one, is that Oklahoma linebackers haven't always played well in the pros. Just when I look at guys like Lemar Marshall, Rocky Calmus and Rufus Alexander, none of them have been very productive. Like I say, probably not fair to lump Lofton in with those guys.

Too many bad memories of Jackie Shipp and Aubrey Beavers I guess.:boohoo:

Good point. Surprisingly, Mayo's stock has been considerably improving over the last couple of weeks and a lot of analysts (including Gosselin and Mayock ) have him as the #1 rated ILB in the draft over Connor and Lofton.

I think Mayock had him going to the Lions in his mock.

I live in Knoxville TN and Ive seen Mayo play alot. I do not think he is desrving of a 1st or 2nd round pick. Lofton , Henderson,Crable, Goff, Wheeler are better than he is. I would rather take Henderson with 64 or Wheeler/Goff with #100. I personally think they will be better for value in the 4th. If we trade JT to Jax for their 2 3rd rounders then prob solved. But Lofton should go before Mayo. I have not heard of him been a 1st rounder yet thats interesting. Lofton is for real. LB we can wait on though we need OT,QB,CB in the first 3 rounds
