I don't know about you guys but I am really intrigued by Sedrick Ellis. This guy was a man among boysand was totally unblockable at the Senior Bowl and was throwing around offensive linemen like they were rag dolls! THIS GUY IS A BEAST!! Tim Bowens like with his pocket push. What the kicker is he can thrive in either 34 or 43 defense and his stock is just skyrocketing. I have to say I like him over Dorsey and C. Long at D-line prospects right now. Thought?

Bowens was 6'5" 315....Ellis is barely over 6 foot and 300 pounds at best. I like Ellis...but like Dorsey he may not be big enough to play NT...in the NFL....Unlike Dorsey...Ellis doesn't have the injury history. The kid I like is Laws...another small DT...and played great during the senior bowl week...if the Dolphins stay with a 4-3 defense he could be a player we look at in the late 2nd round.

Ellis is the guy from texas, right? He is worth investigating. My under standing is that he is taller and heavier than Dorsey. Better in the 3-4, and 2-gap. If we can pick up a #2 by trading down and picking up this guy, it is a consideration. My memory is this was Kiper's suggestion, once.

I'm pretty sure Dorsey is bigger than Ellis and I think Dorsey can play all over the line. I think Ellis will be a very good player, but at NT in the NFL, I think he would get over powered by the far bigger and superior NFL linemen. Look at all the respectable rewards Dorsey won last year, and don't forget Dorsey played in, what most people would call the toughest conf. in college football.

Tons of bigger run stuffing guys started their careers much smaller. Jamal Williams was 300 pounds. Sam Adams was a 295 pound DE. Keith Traylor was an 260 pound ILB.

Tim Bowens was another example. He came into the league relatively slim, but his last several years, including some of his best years, the guy was well over 350 pounds.

(awards)..oops! sorry, very late=)

if i hear one more time that glen dorsey is'nt big enough i'am gonna freak...the guy is 315 LB'S, 21 years OLD, WITH A GREAT BASE.

WHILE I'AM AT IT, PLEASE, NO MORE WARREN SAPP COMPARISONS

I have him #2 in my rankings behind C. Long but would prefer him over Long for need at Nose. Right now though I'm leaning towards Matt Ryan just because he seems like a winner to me. Sedrick is listed at 309 officially versus dorsey at 305.

315??? where are you getting this. I haven't seen him listed over 310 and at most 300-305 in most weights. He also does have a back problem that could affect him negatively down the line.

Uh actually Bowens was 6'4" and about 340. He was never anywhere close to 315. For the record, Ellis was 6'1" 308 pounds at the Senior Bowl weigh-in.

Wow. good thing I don't go to you for draft info. Regarding Ellis injury history, you might find this interesting:

Also, the New York Jets, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis really love defensive tackle Sedric Ellis of U.S.C. Our source thinks the Jets have the best shot of getting him at 6, but he may slip past them and a few other teams due to his injury history (right knee is getting a lot attention in Indy)....

Not even close. He's from USC and he is shorter and ligher than Dorsey.

I think we will see Dorsey show up closer to the 315 lber mark.

I think exaggerating a bit on Bowens height, he might have been 6'4" at the most, but he was more like 320-325.

Personally, I thought Bowens was a good player, maybe even a very good player, but was never as dominant as I think he could have been, always saw him on the lazy side.
