I was watching the radio round table and they were replaying clips from players.. I caught this.. This is Ginn running full out and then puts on the breaks.. I think this is what he calls dropping your hips.. Coach might want to use this to show your other players..

Watch this on Aquavision, the round table, with jimmy wheasing on the microphone.. ughh
but it is 2:40 mins into the video

Thats not dropping your hips. Dropping/Sinking your hips is primarily coined for route-running. For instance, if Ginn was running a 10 yard out, he would run 10 yards upfield then at the 10 yard mark sink his hips and make a sharp cut on the out. If he took stutter steps to get to the out, that would be the opposite of sinking his hips and making a good cut. Another example is a post route. If hes running a 17-25 yard post route, he goes 17 yards sinks his hips and makes the cut and accelerates.

This is an example of a bad out route ran and not sinking your hips to give you the idea.

If you want to see who runs extremely clean routes, go on aquavision and watch Davone Bess or Ginn.

Dont watch London because he is a terrible route runner.

His a$$ is almost on the ground... that's dropping your hips. This is done to Stop! to create separation, so he can change directions. which he is about to do in my post above.

and you show me this in a form of a video game, rotflmao

its ok.... as long as ur a dolphin fan.. you'll get there..

Thats not what Dropping your hips means for wideouts in Football. I think I would know, I've learned from Hines Ward, Gunnard Twyner, Tony Martin, Bill O'Brien, and others. Hes just stopping on a dime to evade the oncoming defender. Sorry, I dont think you have a clue what sinking your hips means if you dont think its primarily used for route running.

This is a nice video of Ted Ginn's plays over the last 2 years with the Dolphins. It's a new video that was posted last week so not many people have seen it. It's almost 10 minutes long:

That's some serious speed. It's great to know he looks even faster out there this year, and looks stronger as he worked with the weights this summer.

Ginn will have his best season in 2009.

Hopefully 1st of many!

Could it be you're both right? Just saying.
No, RobertHorry is right.

The other guy, well i just thought he was trying to be funny...lol but he just is mistaken.

Bess is by far the best at it on the team, and Ginn and London are the worst at it on the team.

All "dropping your hips" means is not wasting steps coming out of your breaks when your running your routes.

It has nothing to do with how you run after you have the football.

its the same difference, doesn't matter if you got the ball or not. How many different ways can one person drop their hips and make a break without losing foot speed. geesshhz it was just an observation..

No it's not the same difference,,,,,,,,,,dropping your hips is only talked about when a WR is running routes.
