For the past several years, it's been tough to pick out the leaders on this team. I think that more than anything hurt the Dolphins going into late in the season and contributed to the December swoons. This year feels different. After watching several player interviews, I really get a sense that there is true leadership on the team this year.

Tannehill, Pouncey and even Wake appear to have grown into more vocal, mature leaders this year. Suh has already demonstrated solid leadership in his short time here by taking a rook under his wing and you can just tell by the way he talks he wants to win badly. His attitude of giving his all, even in practice, appears to be infectious. And we can't forget Jarvis who just exudes leadership and confidence that may have even rubbed off on Tannehill and Pouncey.

There are also some solid leaders in supporting roles, including vets like Jennings who provide a positive vibe to the team (unlike some vets that were in the WR room last year)

Anyone else get a markedly different vibe from this team over previous years?

Without question .

I Believe that Mike Wallace had his ****ty attitude affecting the overall vibe of the team ..... No doubt in My mind .

I think that the fact that Tannehill has a Veteran thats with him that's willing to go play whatever role it takes to WIN .... And doesn't undermine him in front of all of the other receivers helps
( unlike Wallace who was unhappy his first game in a dolphins uniform even though we WON )

I also beleive that Landry being in his second year , increased confidence within Lamar Miller play in as well .

Overall , this team has a family / friendly/ confident vibe within that I haven't seen from a Miami Dolphins football team in many many years .

It all starts at the top , with Coach Philbin being vocally confident in his ability as a coach and the ability of his players to be successfull In their second year in Lazors offense .

Can't wait to see them live against Buffalo , beer in hand

Tannehill, Jennings, Pouncey, Landry, Wake, Suh and Jones are a great corps of leaders on both sides of the ball. I'm very cautiously optimistic about the near future of this team.

I was talking to another Fin fan and we feel the same way. Something does feel different this year. Whatever we do, win the division, and let the cards fall after that. I never doubted we had player leaders, although I still doubt the HC, and will unitl we win big, close games.

Having Suh and Jennings on the team is a God send. I wanted Crabtree when we was available but I'm glad the Dolphins went with Jennings. Now all that's needed is a Special Teams leader and we're set :hclap:

Good post, and completely agree. I would add in Delmas who was/is the QB of the secondary in addition to a very vocal cheerleader. Players and analysts (like Madison) have said how much he means to the team, and bei9ng in the right place to make plays. He reminds me some of a more vocal Troy Vincent (I think it was) years back doing the same, not a great player but, a great player to have,

Agreed, you can tell there really is leadership on this team , not just helping or teaching other players to reach their potential, but also holding and expecting teammate to a higher level. I've already read in a few reports, where after a mix up or mistake, Tannehill called his receivers and talked to them.
