Here are some evaluations (from ESPN Insider) on how the Qbs did in their first Senior Bowl practice. Enjoy.

Cutler
Cutler showed up in very good shape. Looks quick in his drops and shows good mobility. Cutler has very good arm strength and gets necessary RPMs on the deep out route. He shows the ability to fit the ball into tight spots. He also shows adequate touch and timing. He will need to improve his mechanics, especially his footwork as a passer. He is too streaky in terms of his accuracy. Missed a few open receivers that he should have hit during drills today.

Croyle
Unimpressive looking at the weigh-in. Even smaller than expected and does not look the part of a future NFL QB. He shows a strong arm -- not quite as strong as Darrell Hackney but stronger than D.J. Shockley. Has adequate release quickness. Timing was off in practice. Did not show great accuracy and is clearly feeling out his receivers right now. Seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Shockley
Shockley really struggled as a passer today. His timing was off, and he never seemed to settle into a groove. He has the worst arm strength of the three QBs on the South roster (Brodie Croyle and Darrell Hackney). He missed too many open receivers during drills and seemed to get frustrated a bit. He does show quick feet and very good mobility. He has taken off nearly 10 pounds from his playing weight earlier this season. He measured in at under 6-1, which won't help his cause as an NFL prospect at the QB position.

Robinson (PSU)
Robinson played only the quarterback position during practice today, but he did get some pre-practice work as a return specialist. He has taken off some weight but looks in good shape. He is quick and mobile. Is at his best as a passer when rolling out of the pocket and creating on the move. Otherwise, he looks completely in over his head at the QB position. He struggles to see behind his offensive line and seems to be constantly fighting to find passing windows. His mechanics are marginal. His delivery is too long. Shows marginal arm strength and accuracy. He is too late to make throws and he doesn't have the arm to make up for it. He would be better served to spend the rest of this week at wide receiver or running back. He is wasting his time at the QB position.

my friends a huge clemson fan, and he speaks very highly of whitehurst. He says "He's not the greatest Qb as far as skills and mechanics, but hes a gamer for sure"

Love your avatar. Huge Douglas Adams fan.

It seems there are quite a few decent qbs coming out this year. Something tells me we don't pick one on day 1.

My pleasure. One of my classmates is a huge clemson fan too he says he has all the tools to be a good QB just needs to make better decisions.

Looks like Cutler could be the best QB in the draft perhaps even better than Leinart

Hence the reason Leinart was too afraid to attend the Senior Bowl

He might have more upside as far as physical ability but he is much more of a project than Matt.

Leinart should make the smoothest transition to the next level than any other Qb coming out based on the simple fact that he had the opportunity to get tutored by Norm Chow and he they ran a pro style offense where he was able to call his own audibles.

I agree. He is by far the most NFL ready qb of the top 3, the question is going to be what people think his upside is.
