The Miami Dolphins might be forced to finish the season with rookie Laremy Tunsil playing left tackle.

While Branden Albert was able to finish Sunday's 31-24 win over the San Diego Chargersplaying with his dislocated left wrist in a cast, the Miami Dolphins aren't sure continuing to do so is a wise decision for the team's best offensive lineman.

According to head coach Adam Gase, Albert is going to see a hand specialist to determine if playing with a cast on his left wrist could create long-term concerns about his wrist.

"What can we do as far as moving forward? Are we able to get him back this week. Is it going to be the next week," Gase said. "Everything is out there right now for us. [Albert's hand] is very swollen right now."

After Sunday's game Albert, a nine-year veteran who has started 113 NFL games, insisted he'll continue to play for the Dolphins, but it appears the decision will be decided by Miami's medical team.

BA will be a cap casualty next season and it lets Tunsil slide over into his natural position. I may be in minority here, but there might not be that much of a drop off on the offensive line if BA can't suit up.

Just shows the genius of the Tunsil pick. They could have been scared off, but knew he would fill two roles this year: guard to start, and tackle when Albert inevitably gets injured.

Branden struggled a bit yesterday, but I think more than anything, his leadership, his bond with Tunsil and keeping the continuity on the offensive line is critical if we want to maintain success out there. Don't need any missing pieces going up against that defensive front . . . Because that could be the nastiest dline in the NFL.

Don't want to mess with a winning formula. Like Dawg said BA leadership is critical. Tunsil will hopefully have many years to dominate at LT but I'd like to keep this group intact as long as we can. If it ain't broken ...

So I googled it, I know nothing carved in stone, and found dislocated wrists usually require surgery and 8 weeks with a cast. My guess is they're finding out if:

A: BA can play through the pain with no further damage to the hand and get it fixed in the offseason.
B: BA can get the surgery and play with a cast in a couple weeks give or take.
C: BA needs the surgery and is out for the season.

If he finished yesterday then he can play. Dont be soft and blow our streak, we need albert with nobody to slide to guard for tunsil

The article says he only missed 24 games in his career, seems like they have all been with the Dolphins. I hope he can finish the season, but I'm pretty sure doctors will be cautious and put him on IR.

He dislocated his wrist they popped it back in and he came back to play lol. Just another day

He was out every season IR except one with the Chiefs which was the year before we signed him and I belive he played guard not tackle that year

The oline looked better without Albert IMO. I know hes a great leader but he can still lead from the sidelines. If its better for him then he should go to IR. that might signal his cut this off-season. We'll see.
