Series History: 10th meeting. Dolphins lead series, 8-1, including 3-0 in Arizona, and 5-0 when they were the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals’ lone win, 24-23, came at then-Pro Player Stadium on Nov. 7, 2004 when former Dolphins QB Josh McCown hit WR Larry Fitzgerald on a two-yard TD with 19 seconds left. It ended a 17-game road losing streak by the Cardinals.

Let's make it 9-1!!!!!!!!!!!

at least we've got history on our side. the reality is that they aren't much better on paper or the field so we have an excellent chance to win this game. putting warner on his back should be top priority. without a consistent passing game - which then translates to an easier time running the ball - the cards will be in trouble.

I remember watching the one in 2004 completely hung over.

The TD to Fitzgerald was a heartbreaker.

But, beating the Pats on MNF later on made my year.

The most famous meeting had to be the Thanskgiving Day game in '77. St. Louis was favored but Griese had maybe the best passing game of his career and the Dolphins won in an amazing rout.

But the game I remember most was '72, late in the season hosting the Cardinals on Monday night. We were starting to sniff 14-0 and it was like a showcase for the nation.

I'm not sure younger fans realize what a big deal the Monday night spotlight was in those days. There were no cable games, or cable TV period. You had a handful of channels and when you were on the new national obsession Monday Night Football it was like nothing else was happening in the world. Howard Cosell would tell the nation if you were great or awful.

We dominated St. Louis on the ground in that '72 game, one of the best offensive displays of the season.

I was amazed at the Cardinal fans. That's the standout memory. The opposing fans always sat in our section in the lower northeast stands, just in front of us. Most teams had rowdy young fans, particularly the division rivals. But the Cardinal fans were unlike any I'd seen. They were older and dressed head to toe in bright cardinal, wearing hats and going back and forth to the concessions, returning with big cups of beer. In general they looked like they had more money and spare time than football interest.

If you remember that 2004 game, Jason Taylor sacked Josh McCown with time running down but THE GREAT SAM MADISON was called for some holding penalty or something. So they replayed the down and McCown hit Fitzgerald for the TD. I believe that was the last game Dave Wannstedt ever coached for us though, so we owe Arizona some gratitude.

History means jack squat. Because players on both teams are totally different.

The problem with terrible posts like this one is people fall in love with the logos on the helmets, and totally ignore who the players are playing in those uniforms (and that's all that counts)

lol. Man Greyboy you usually have good post. I'm not in love with any logos! That's crazy talk. I just want to show that historically we dominated zona.

Spot on Greyboy, BUT the Cards have a habit of losing games they should win, they dont like that favorites tag going into games.

Isn't that basically what being a fan of a team is? cheering for a logo? We all cheer for the Dolphins year after year. Even after 26 new players come in, we cheer for the Dolphins.

Barely anything is the same on this team, but we still root for them. All 32 teams are just the same, they have a FO, players, jerseys, etc.
