Serious Question About the Defense

Not to rain on the big Win, but serious question about the Defense.....

It seems like literally every game the Defense gives up a cake walk opening drive TD putting the offense in an immediate hole before they get the ball

Or it always seems like when the Offense does actually jump out to an early lead, the defense gives the lead back literally on the next possession (Cardinals game)

Yes they won tonight against an awful team but my concern is going forward against better teams where this repetitive issue could come back to haunt them

Also the usual with the D allowing a FG right before half, cant even count how many times they have done that in the last decade it seems...(tonight, Ravens game, etc)

The front 7 needs work on this defense. Particularly the linebackers who can't fill on running plays, can't cover on passing plays and can't tackle. Other than those three things the linebacking corp is great.

Branch was also pretty quiet tonight...I'd like to keep him at a reasonable price but we need a young DE to groom and eventually start...be it for Branch or Wake when he retires.

Front office should be focused on the front 7 this off season.
