Seth Mckinney is in a really deep hole right now. With the signing of Alonzo Ephraim he really will need to step it up, Ephraim is a young, tough lineman who was part of the Eagles success last year. Seth better step it up because I see WAY too many linemen being signed and I see him as maybe being CUT. As far as Middleton, its great that our young guys can learn from his nastiness and to really get in the heads of defenders. Our line needs to be ruthless and with Middleton it just got alot more ruthless than last year. Who knows maybe he'll go up against Wright and really make him cry.... j/k  but seriously I see Seth maybe being too mediocre unless he steps it up in camp. Don't be mad, thats just what I think may unfold. :escape:

I'm pretty sure at vet min, 1 year contract, they'll keep McKinney on for depth if he is, in fact, displaced by Hadnot or anyone else.

I have been McKinney's biggest antagonist while he's been in our starting lineup. I've been very vocal about benching him since mid-September last year. I am very excited that it looks like the door is closing on him being a starter on our line because it tells me that our line is improving. IMO, I don't want him to be #2 on our dept chart either. As long as he is no higher than #3 at any position on our depth chart is fine with me, but if he is #2 at the center or guard position when the regular season starts, then the dept on our line is still weak. Injuries happen on the o-line, and if our best backup is McKinney, I wouldn't be happy with that.

AMEN, Mckinney is a nice guy an all but hes just a Mediocre lineman. We need depth and I see too many linemen therefore I see him becoming part of the Cut Crew, along with Bellamy.

well I know i have voiced my opinions on mckinney but if we dont sign one more lineman it may not hurt to use him as depth but darn he sure could use more film watching and needs more coaching so i wouldnt object to benching . i hope we keep kay jay harris , joe davis , te alex holmes and gillmore. Its not going to be popular but i dont see boston staying healty so he may get cut or somthing.

I agree with the whole Rex Hadnot thing, I believe if he starts at Center and Ephraim behind him, Mckinney stands no chance. It would also free up some more cap room.

Yeah, he's not his brother's caliber and Steve isn't a dominating lineman either...

I never liked Seth and criticized him for much of this offseason to the chagrin of some Seth supporters. I'm glad that the Fins are making moves to upgrade the center spot with Hadnot. I honestly think that Seth's marginally OK backup material but that's it.

i just hope our line is better than last year, and so far it could be with some more work by about week 8 maybe part of the top 10 best offensive lines, if we stay away from injuries.

I have been a McK basher as well since early last year...but he might be good to keep on as an experienced backup center and guard. I actually think he could play the guard position better than he has the center...I don't understand how he just has not progressed from the time he was given Ruddy's job.

GO REX NO MORE MCKINNEY, but if you guys remember Rex was made fun of alot last year, he was called Rex Hadnot Blocked........ just something I thought I would remind you guys of. It was on a bunch of sigs last year, so just wanted to point that out, I hope he did turn around and is great; But only time will tell.

Am I remembering correctly that our line got significantly better when Seth stepped in for Todd Perry at RG in 2002. I always thought he did a decent job at guard (not starting caliber but serviceable). He would be a versatile back-up.
