Several Miami Dolphins players reportedly fed up with Mike McDaniel, want to play elsewhere

Right, but it has nothing to do with the way he dresses. If he wore a suit and fedora like Landry, his record would still be the same.
if he wore a suit and fedora like landry, it would probably be consistent with how he behaves, which is much different than he currently behaves. he would run practice harder, and be more of a disciplinarian. nobody claims he is not a great coach because of how he dresses. it is the other way around. how he dresses is consistent with how he coaches. soft

ummm yeah he is when his starting QB actually plays at a 64% clip. That's winning.

I shouldn't even do this but I want to see the "BUT WHAT"S HIS RECORD AGAINST GOOD TEAMS" responses
so he is a good coach, when he isn't losing? so was cam cameron

do I think mcdaniels has problems sure, but I will say 2 playoffs out of 3 years, 1 game off of 3 playoffs.
No offense intended, but why do so many think that barely earning a Wild Card and losing in the first round is a sign of a successful season? I remember not too long ago that a team with a losing record actually won their Division and had a home playoff game... is that something to be proud of? And now, with 6 Wild Cards instead of the previous 4, nearly half the League makes the playoffs.

Getting the 6th or 7th Seed basically means you're slightly above average, and in Miami's case, it also means that the schedule was in their favor having them play more bad teams than good teams. And, making Miami look even worse is the fact that from mid-season until the final stretch they were in contention for the Top Seed, but the combination of some injuries and a poorly built and run team that couldn't beat good teams caused a collapse in the final games and they were lucky to get a Wild Card spot.

If Miami under Grier and McDaniel was really a well-built and well-run team, they should have won the Division when they were up by 3 games over Buffalo with 5 games to go. Until Miami can finally beat good teams more than they lose to them, even if they make the playoffs they're still going to lose. IOW, making the playoffs but having an overall really bad losing record against winning teams makes you a pretender, not a contender.

ps all of 6-5 last year, with tua, against a joke schedule. could have easily been 4-7. etienne fumble, then first jets game all their kicker has to do is kick it in the end zone for a touchback. faded badly end of season the prior year as well, when it mattered, with tua. bottom line, i look at the product on the field, and it is a soft team that cannot rise in the moment. they need viagra!

again, I clearly stated it wasnt well built, or from fo well run.. I have been very clear in my stance its not.

I am sayin to achieve what was achieved considering how poorly built it was is in itself praise worthy, ofc doing much better from there is the dream, but my point is that cause its not well built, and its been same issuses for 20 years we will not achieve more, thats the problem

my point is as stated, to blame anything on a coach when every coach has been the same result isn't the way, now if a coach has said well built team and fails to perform then you can blame a coach, case and point steelers, always making playoffs generally well constructed teams yet always same mediocre result.

again my point is at current state of Miami and how its constructed and run from fo ,any qb and any coach will be same result, and people constantly preaching we need a new qb, we need a new coach are just perpetuating a cycle thats forever gonna be the same.

like I said if we had the proper built team and our qb or the coach was not getting the result then sure lay the blame at there feet, but this isnt the case nor has it been the case for 2 decades. this team is for ever doomed until the fo changes its fundamental ideals, and people asking for MM head like its gonna change anything are the people who are the true worry.. cause news flash it won't

Right there with you. His schemes and many of his play designs are fantastic, but his basic execution is lacking.

Some of the plays are so pretty that it legitimately frustrates me that they can’t get the little things right consistently.

He’s here for the immediate future, though, so there’s not much to be done about that. I still say the entire team would be better and his future more secure if he just let Bevell call plays.

I agree. But McDaniel is hell bent on being OC play caller like his cool colleagues Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay. He HAS to be cool like them.

Lemme quote that article (that has NOTHING to do with winning and excellence, by the way) -

"The team also renovated their gameday locker room at Hard Rock Stadium this summer. The stadium locker room is not an area evaluated in these surveys, but this is another example of just how committed the team is to providing an elite player experience."

If they could only worry about providing an elite fan experience...and an elite league-standing experience...besides the warm-and-cuddly player feel.

How did Kansas City come out in that survey, while we're at it? Philly? They were 26th and 22nd respectively...talk about a "conflicting" report.

It’s funny how two years ago McDaniel was the ultimate players coach now he’s a jabroni. I like him because he’s goofy but I think he shouldn’t be calling plays

So when you come off the 18th at Pebble beach and head to the bar, you remove your tailor made hat?
Yep, it’s tradition. There’s not a private club I’ve ever been to where hats are allowed in the clubhouse. Although Pebble is a public course, but a very expensive one at that.

So, he hasn’t one any big games and makes the same mistakes year after year after year, but you want to retain him because he’s ā€œgoofyā€???
