Sex scandal may cost Miami Northwestern its 2007 season

The highly anticipated Sept. 15 high school football showdown between national powers Miami Northwestern and Southlake (Texas) Carroll is in jeopardy, as the Miami-Dade school superintendent considers cancelling the Bulls' entire 2007 season in the wake of a sex scandal at the school last year.

Defending Class 6A football champion Miami Northwestern High School, mired in controversy after a far-reaching cover-up, will be allowed to play its 2007 football season, Miami-Dade County School Superintendent Rudy Crew announced Wednesday before an overflow crowd at a school board meeting.
