Shawn Andrews a Guard could be up for trade would Miami bite? He was the 16 pick in the first round in 2004... What do you think?

Anthony Gargano of WIP radio in Philly reported on Friday that the Eagles discussed internally the possibility of trading guard Shawn Andrews

per http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

He's the best guard in football not named Steve Hutchinson, why in the world would they trade him?

he's not going anywhere especially with him being signed thru 2015

I dont see it happening.. why in the world will they trade one of the best G's in the league :rolleyes2:

Man hell yeah id give up a first for Shawn Andrews!

why would you give up a likely top 10 pick for an offensive guard??? i realize andrews is good but i'd rather have the potential promise of a playmaker with the pick.

Well i dont know about giving up a first, but i'd definitely give up a second. This guy is one of the best guards in football. I wanted him coming out of Arkansas and i was very disappointed when the Eagles traded up a few spots ahead of us to get him. He's an excellent player.

If this is even true, i dont see why they would trade him.

Who's to say Parcells and Co. would take a playmaker with their pick next year? I actually would like them to, I'd rather see them bring in a Mauluga or a top flight WR or CB prospect, but who knows what they would do. Andrews is definitely worth a 1st though and if you get him you get a proven top 5 player at his position in the league which is something you can never guarantee with a draft pick.

The Eagles are known for playing hardball with their players. They would rather get rid of them then sign them to a big contract. I say we offer one of our 2nd rounders for him and see if they'll bite.

Utlimately it would mean JT for Shaun Andrews.

But this guy has a contract, the problem is he's not following it by showing up to camp. He also has a history of getting out of shape, in fact when they drafted him he was well over 400 pounds and that was the biggest knock on him. Once he got in shape he became excellent, but perhaps he's not in camp because he got fat again?

he's a stud!

if we could get him yes!

I just can't uunderstand why they would be trading this guy.

He was our guy, we were all set to draft him when the Eagles ruined it!!!!!!!!

But we still got Vernon Carey who is also a very solid player. I mean if you can get Andrews for a 2nd rounder or lower NOW, he's only 25, you basically got Carey and Andrews for a 1st and 2nd rounder respectively and those are two of the best players in the first round of that draft.

Can he play WR, CB, and the D-Line too? I don't think we would want to give up what they are asking for and I think other than some 2nd or 3rd stringers the O-line is in good shape.
