We Should Draft Shawn Crable

Since Zach is gone, this man right here is a best fit for our linebacking core.Parcells kind of Line Backer, and is a 3-4 player, which means he can play OLB,and DE,he has tons of experience as he went to Michigan for 5 years.Shawn Crable is 6'5",242 pounds and runs a 4.6.He is an excellent pass rusher and blitzer, and can shed a block like no other.Shawn is a great coverage player, can can make a play on the ball.Shawn is often compared to a Shawn Merriman-type of player,as he bring aggressiveness and a high-level of intensity and energy, which is what Miami has been missing from the LB position.

Bottom line,Parcells is in lone with LB's like Shawn,we are in position to grab him,he plays our defensive style,he is flexible at OLB and DE,and he fill a need and is good enough and awared enough to start now.

Guys,I don't know about you,but out of all the LB,I truely belive Pacells and Ireland are glaring at him.I just can't imagine Parcells/Ireland and Sparano not taking this guy in the 2nd.I would be devasted if we didnt get him.

Here is a link to Shawn Crable pros, cons, and info on his life,I'll try to show you a picture of him soon(HE IS HUGE[RIPPED]).

I really like Crable from what I know about him, although I'm not sure that he is great in coverage. I've actually read that he needs to work on that part of his game, but the rest of his game is great. He has a knack for making plays behind the line, he's a leader and is a great special teams player. I hope Miami calls his name on draft day.

I would LOVE to have Crable on our team. 28 TFL is amazing and he can cause TOs when needed also. If we trade JT, Crable would be the guy I would want to replace JT (or Vernon Gholston of course).

if you look at the link,it says he is adequate in coverage, lol, maybe i got a little carried away with "great",but i do nt think he has to work on the part of the game as much as reading offenses....

one prob he has in coverage is he doesn't read plays well at all, very slow instinctively... but when he's rushing in he is very athletic and make plays. how is his head though, like work ethic and as a team player?

I dont think you can really compare Crabel to Merriman. There's about 30 pounds of difference there. They are both 3-4 OLB prospects, but they are quite a bit different in style and function.

well it says here that merriman is 272 so i dont think you should be accusing anyone of not having football smarts. the comparisons with crable and merriman still dont hold water imo. crable is no where near as athletic as merriman is. crable has questionable instincts and some of have questioned his work ethic. his coverage needs some work too. wouldnt be a bad pick up in the 3rd.

It's funny that your calling somebody out for trying to act all "smart" when your post pretty much offered us nothing on Shawn Crable that we didn't already know. Most of the stuff you wrote had striking similarities to all of the pro's listed on the link you provided.

You also mention that he has tons of experience as he went to Michigan for five years, yet your link says he has some learning to do as he was just a starter for two years. You then say that he is good enough and "awared" enough to start now, yet again, your link says he is very slow to read and react and his intelligence is a concern.

He is a Parcells type LB, and he would be a great pick for us, I'll give you that.

i pointed out that issue in one of my comments, read through the replays

30 POUND DIFFERENCE?!?!?!?!?!?!

Shawn Merriman is 255 pounds,Shawn Crable is 242 ponuds,so how does that make a 30 pound difference?....if he weighed 30 more pounds he'd be a DE,not a linebacker!!!!

Let me do this real slow like.

The official Chargers website lists Shawne Merriman as 272 pounds.

The official Michigan Wolverines website lists Shawn Crable as 243 pounds.

[mod] not needed[/mod]
That's the amount of difference between the listed weights of Shawne Merriman and Shawn Crable. You might not know this, but I assure you that 29 is very close to 30. In fact, it's one whole number(the standard unit of counting) different.

Uh, no.

Calvin Pace- 6'4" 272
Willie McGinest- 6'5" 268(Only TWO whole numbers off of 270)
Adalius Thomas- 6'2" 270
Bryan Thomas- 6'4" 268
Greg Ellis- 6'6" 270

All of those players ended last year as starting 3-4 OLBs.

You can follow through here if you want with me, check it out-

Go to Start, Run, and type "Calculator" and hit enter.

Type 272, hit the "-" button, type 243, and then hit "=". You should get the number 29.

That 29 there? That's the amount of difference between the listed weights of Shawne Merriman and Shawn Crable. You might not know this, but I assure you that 29 is very close to 30. In fact, it's one whole number(the standard unit of counting) different.

one of the players we just signed junior glymph is 6-5 270 just to add to your list.

what makes you think he wont have to work on it as much? everything ive read and seen of the guy shows he has issues when the ball is in the air. he is pretty high cut and has trouble with his hips. plus one of the things ive seen in him lately is his thinness and his lower body strength. i like crable but i think there are better alternatives to him such as a cliff avril.
