Just looking for some feed back on Shawn Murphy and Lionel Dotson. I have not been able to see all the games but are these guys improving in your opinion or just hanging around. Give me some feedback.

Maybe it's just me, but did anybody else see Shawn Murphy doing some work with the first team last night?

Didn't notice him with the 1st team at all, but he opened a HUGE hole with Ike Ndukwe on Parmele's 80-yd run. I think Murphy is being groomed to be the 3rd G, capable of playing either side if Smiley or Thomas go down. However, he needs to continue to develop his strength and conditioning to an NFL level. I think he'll make the final 53 man roster, but he probably will be inactive for the games.
Dotson, I was pretty high on for a while and thought we might stash him on the 53 man and keep him inactive a la Fred Evans under the Saban regime of 2006. However, Dotson really hasn't shown much at all; Evans showed flashes in the preseason that year and was caught in a numbers game, so I think Dotson will be cut. He could be a practice squad candidate, but that's about the most I think we'll see of him this year.

If Murphy makes the 53-man roster, it's only because of his draft status. Dotson is heading to the practice squad.
