Weren't people telling me just this week this guy was a starter...whatever...see ya...next up!
 
may not have been interested in a cut...lost some nastiness here...possible he comes back cheaper...
 
If they do nothing at guard in FA, I will bang the drum for a guard in RD1 or 2. I do not care about the "cornfed" comments.

That would be great. I think it is a real possibility. If the 3 WR's are off the board ... that's the best player available and the biggest need.
 
Very strange move after the team told him they were bringing him back for another chance to start (as per Jackson) and Tannenbaum's comments. Wondering what caused it. Maybe an unexpected deal coming available?

Has to be. Or perhaps creating wiggle room to bring back Clay?
 
I wasn't impressed with Shelly's performance. This offseason has been really good in the sense that we are finally getting rid of those bad players we have watched for years in some cases.
We may start the season slowly due to the new faces, I can live with that. I do not want to be stuck at 7-9,8-8, 9-7 for the next 5 years.
Mix it up, and see what comes of it.

I'd rather just bring in a starter via FA and then draft a guard late, but if we don't bring in a Boling or Wisniewski, guard is easily our biggest hole. I'd be ok with a guy like Collins rd 1 in that case, especially since its all but a lock that the top 3 WRs will be gone now IMO.

The Dolphins told G Shelley Smith they have interest in re-signing him at a lower number than $3 M. He will visit Seahawks on Wednesday.

Dumb....our Cap wasn't that damn tight and now we are screwed in a weak guard market....dumb dumb dumb
 
Free agent OG Shelley Smith is visiting the Seahawks on Wednesday.
Smith was cut loose by the Dolphins on Tuesday. Guard was a trouble spot for the Seahawks last season. They have an opening on the left side after letting James Carpenter walk, but Smith wouldn't be a realistic candidate to start.

It's pretty amazing how Seattle can get by with servicble guard play with Wilson at QB, but we can't seem to do so with Tannehill?

Wonder why? Hmmm.
