CJ West is one of the 5 or so best DT's in the class and should be a real target at 48.

I sure hope not.Pearce won’t be there at 13
I always get a kick out of those who just don't understand that OLB and DE are NOT the same position, don't require the same things.Agree. Stewart is a good option at #13. He's probably the best edge setter at defensive end, with tremendous upside as a pass rusher. Stopping the run is still important and pressures count too.
First of all... a brief apology... I might be a-fixin' to be a little sarcastic here... (bear with me).
Last year, a number of us stated quite clearly that Chop Robinson was THE physical freak among the OLB-type Edges last year, but the crybabies (here's the sarcasm that I warned you about) sniffed... but his production! If he was any good, he would have put up sooo many more sacks.
I guess they were.... WRONG (as Ray would jabber).
Chop had/has a nightmarish first step and as one of the youngest players in the draft, he just hadn't put it all together yet. The classic, decent floor/astronomical ceiling prospect. ...and he came on as the season progressed, even though his running buddies were... umm... old, and less than stellar.
But Fever... (you say)... I thought your title said Shemar Stewart?
Can you say, hit me again, Chris.
Shemar KILLED the Combine... just killed it. He put up some of the best numbers, not just of this combine but historically.
I already liked him.
Now he is the #1 prospect on my board at 13. Pairing these two would give us a dream pass rush. One power/speed, and one with a dynamite twitch.
If he's on the board and we pass. I'll cry... out loud.

Hard to disagree with you.First of all... a brief apology... I might be a-fixin' to be a little sarcastic here... (bear with me).

It's ironic... I start off the thread talking about how so many said that Chop would be bad because he didn't produce much... and despite Stewart's stellar Combine and the fact that he led his team in QB pressures while playing DE, rather than OLB... so many say, "but his sack numbers were low".Hard to disagree with you.
Part of the problem I had with the Chop pick, aside from his lack of production, was that I was relying on both Phillips and Chubb to be healthy. I was RONG! (As Ray says)
Pass rusher is a need again. If we take him I wont complain.
He dropped weight for the Senior Bowl practices as well. He was listed at 290-295 most of his college career. Their last game was November 30th and they played in a Bowl game December 27th. He’s had close to 3 months to trim down.Actually... he dropped 14 lbs.
Not unusual, a lot of players do this each year.
But even after dropping weight to 267lbs from 281 at the Senior Bowl, he out jumped the much smaller Pierce.
Pierce's jumps were comically low... more in line with an Offensive Lineman.
Yes, his straight line speed was very fast, but his jumps were very bad. That's not a good sign for a OLB.
...and that assumes that the program weight was correct to begin with, which is highly debatable. The only times he was weighed was at the Senior Bowl, and yesterday. He dropped weight for the Senior Bowl practices as well. He was listed at 290-295 most of his college career. With his measurables? If you're drafting a DE Top 20, he better be a great pass rusher. You can find guys to set the Edge literally anywhere.
Last time I checked we have effective running backs at all different sizes why in the world would tackles be any different. Like you said there are exceptionsDisagree...
Well outside is the right description... NFL teams want at least 6'5".
So you're saying it is possible...More on the Banks question...
Yes, Banks too is smaller than ideal. Indeed, this shows up in many of the scouting reports that I've seen. Most think he could survive at Tackle or thrive at Guard. Membou? He's a Guard in my mind... that is, if his listed measurements are accurate (and many times they are not). 6'3" and 330some pounds... he's have to be elite to play outside for long-- especially as he slows over his career.
