Sherman Fired

Hard to believe we've been waiting just for Sherman to take the fall all by himself. Clean the damn house Ross!!!!

Ozzy rules!!

You can't be a fall guy when he was a major reason the Dolphins couldn't win ONE of the last TWO games. The plays he was calling were HS level play calls. My wife was calling out what plays Sherman was going to call most of the time the last 2-games. I love my wife, but she's only been watching football with me the last 6-years.

Philbin is going nowhere. Right or wrong, by dumping Sherman today I think the writing is very clear on the wall on Joe's future.

Ireland is still up in the air. The only theory I got as for why there's still no word is that they're waiting for the Wells Report so that they can pin it all on him, ****can him, and then fire him for cause and not have to pay him.

If they get rid of Ireland and keep Philbin then they basically should give Philbin another label, GM. Because if you bring some random GM to hopefully get players Philbin likes, we are right where we are now, or worse.

If you keep Philbin he has to be the guy that hires the talent evaluator.

Please Hayden.

Please what? Mike Sherman helped Joe Philbin's coaching career more than anyone. Without Mike Sherman he is nowhere near the NFL. Joe supposedly had power over his staff...yet he succumbs to ownership? Be a man like Mike Munchack. Instead, Joe fires Sherman. Coward.

What kind loyalty will Philbin have after this from other coaches and players? He showed NONE to Sherman, why should Philbin get any in return?

Who will want to work for lame duck in Philbin?

Joe should have stood up for Mike Sherman.

I know he needed to get fired. I just mean that Ireland and Philbin should have been fired as well. As bad as Sherman was/is, the defense was bad too in those 2 last games. The LB's can't tckled. The run defense was one of the bottom 5 this year. The oline was horrible(personel). Sherman's play calling was one of the worst I've seen but not every single thing was on him.

If the get rid of Ireland too. You gotta clean house at that point and start this thing brand new!

hark one of the people who defended Mike Sherman more than ever and bashes Joe at every chance hates the move. Color me shocked.

And Joe is not a lame duck. Could he be fired next year? Sure, but he ain't a lame duck right now.

Now stop acting like an idiot for 2 seconds when it comes to Philbin and understand that Sherman had to go.

So you're saying Joe should keep herman even if he's not doing a good job because they're friends? So the hell with the team, the players and the fans as long as Joe and Sherman can remain friends then it's ok?

I have mixed feelings. I feel if we totally cleaned house I'm not more comfortable we'd would get better results if they simply got rid of Sherman alone. I honestly believe we are a couple of hand full of plays away from being a 10 to 11 win team. I think the talent on offense is there, I believe we are very close. I place the majority of that blame on Sherman.

However, with what took place this past year I wouldn't have been one bit offended if Ross got rid of everyone as well. I also feel the cloud that hangs over Ireland's head is not a good thing. The fans and media will not let it go, and it will remain the 500lb. gorilla in the room as long as he stays in Miami.

I undrstand wha you're saying but keep on mind we were also a few plays away from being 6 and 10.

If I can remember correctly, Sherman said he had a lot to say about bullygate when the investigation was over.....I wonder if he will talk it about sooner rather than later...

Moe Torboat @KansasNewsMoe 24s Dick Vermeil leading contender for #Dolphins OC job.

Good news. Moe ypically nails it. One guy whose stuff he retweets has this too.

Mike Hunt @InsideMikeHunt 10m Look for Miami to bring in Marty Schottenheimer in some capacity.

We went through the same thing with Sparano, fire this coach, then that coach, then assistants, then the ball boy, and nothing changed, because the head coach and Gm are incompetent. Don't get me wrong, I didn't like Sherman, but he isn't the only one who should be heading out the door.
