Nine years ago, Mike Sherman gave Joe Philbin his entry into the NFL when he hired him as his assistant offensive line coach with the Green Bay Packers. Philbin is apparently about the return the favor.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Sherman is in South Florida today, presumably to finalize details on a deal that will make him the Dolphins’ new offensive coordinator.

I thought Sherman may be uneasy with working under one of his understudy but Im glad its going to work out. I just hope this doestn mean we draft Tannehill. I know Sherman knows the guy in and out, but there has to be a reason Sherman only started the guy at QB 1 out of 4 years and played him at WR for the majority of the time.

no way we draft Tanehill in the first round if we get flynn/Manning or anyone else

and I still wouldn't draft him in the 1st round if we didn't

This is big.
The connection with Philbin, the connection with the Green Bay offensive heritage and an experienced playcaller.
This will ease Philbin's transition to HC because it will release him from having to micromanage the offense.

I was really worried they were going to have to poach some up and comer from the Green Bay tree. That had disaster written all over it.

I think this would be great. i read an article that compared teams that had ex-head coaches as coordinators with the other teams and the winning percentage was much higher.

It makes sense that a first time head coach would do better with an experienced coordinator.

If we get a quarterback, watch out for the fins :)

Don't count your chickens yet...

The Fins never finish...on or off the field.

Seems like I've seen this same post from you a couple of times now today... Should we be putting you on suicide watch? God you're depressing.

Read that Cleveland may try to make a play for Sherman. How strong are Sherman's ties to Holmgren?

I will say we have more money to pay him if it comes down to that.
