I don't get it. I guess I am stupid, or just maybe looking at this wrong. I see thread after thread on here criticizing the move to fire Sherman. I see national media calling him the fall guy. Before the move everyone wanted "change". Well when your offense is ranked 27 overall, isn't that a good place to start? I understand frustration of this is the ONLY move they make. But regardless if someone else gets canned or not, firing Sherman and going a new direction on offense is the right thing to do.

Let's just hope that Ross is not done sharpening the knife and cuts Ireland too.

:ponder: From what I've seen here I think most around here love the fact we got rid of Sherman. It's clear his antiquated and ineffective playcalling needed to go. Now we're just waiting for more moves including a much craved GM change. As far as the media, they're just doing what they do best...stirring up the pot.

You know how it is... we didn't clean house.

There wasn't going to be enough bloodshed unless everyone was canned.

Ireland in particular.

This cloud will always remain as long as Ireland is here.

Phins need a new GM as a priority.
Second, as far as coaching, Philbin was brought in to implement his plan. Aside from giving him the GM of his choosing which should be a no brainer, owner should not meddle with that plan. The only decision the owner has to make here is whether to stick with Philbin and his plan or not. The decision on the implementation of that plan and whether to hire or fire coaches, and even whether he needs a better GM should rest with Philbin.
As it stands right now, and is has been the case with the Dolphins, the owner is undermining the success of the team. He is making bad decision after bad decision.

People want Ireland **** canned end of story. Well everyone except those who think their somebody's boss or something

People have to be bitter about something and they don't care or are oblivious to how they are a hippocrite. They choose to be negative until they get what they want, just like young bratty children.

They want Sherman fired over a year and now they get that but they point fingers to Philbin for doing exactly what they would have done in the same situation! He kept his paid job and sacrificed the scapegoat! It's very rare anyone does a Mike Munchak. But everyone is holier than thou on a keyboard!

Sherman needed to be fired, And the Fins staff has 1 more year to win or get the same treatment altogether. Hope it works out because win or lose I love the Fins but I am just such a better person and happier when they win!

Because we're still stuck with the guy who built this pile of trash.

Sherman was a really big part of our offensive issues, BUT he did not create the OL mess (Ireland). He did not draft Dion Jordan to play special teams (Ireland). He did not draft 2 corners who were inactive most of the year(Ireland). He did not trade a potential HOF WR (Marshall) for 2 3rd round picks and a case of PBR (Ireland). I can go on and on and on and on. Sherman deserved to be fired, but there are much more deserving souls (Ireland) that should have been gone a long time ago. What does this guy have to do or not do to get fired is the question of the day.

Sherman needed to go but he is not the only one! This stinks of a sacrificial lamb to appease the masses like meatball canning his DC Paulie. Getting rid of Sherman doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the problems with this organization and that is what the smart fans take issue with.

I'm not negative, this was the number one thing on my list of things Miami should do immediately. I find it hard to believe that Miami could be worse off for this move, Sherman was outdated, much like Henning before him, they had great offenses at one point in time but the game has passed them by as it does all the greats.

Miami has a host of OC's to look at this off-season and I highly doubt any of them will be worse than Sherman was.

Number two on my list the offensive line coach, he should be fired next.

There are some who don't get it, and then there are those who refuse to get it.

Sherman had to go go.

Ireland as well.

IMHO

I think this is the initial shot across the bow and both Jeff and Joe need to get in the POs. -> or we go full scale change -

I wish Ross would have canned all based on this past season let alone Jeff's futile record of the past 6 years

Coyle showed us little by way of late game management, and somehow gets a pass

Let me try with that kind of passive aggressive attack against those I don't agree with. Some people are happy with any move because their mommies discouraged competition and told them they are winners, even when they weren't, so they live their lives happy with mediocrity and striving for nothing better. They probably continued breastfeeding until they were 6 or 7 years old and continue calling their mothers "Mommy" as adults.

How did I do?

Now, onto real talk that doesn't have sad little blanket personal attacks. I, for one, have no problem with firing Sherman. I do, however, have a problem if he's the only change. That reeks of nothing more than a scapecoat. A move to attempt to satiate the calls for change without actually changing much of anything. Ireland is by far the biggest problem with this staff, and yet here he is continuing business as usual. It's still early though, so there is till time to make a real change, and it starts with Captain IR: Jeff Ireland.
