considering that it is known that henne is going to get an increased role this year, and that there is an availability of pulling a fair #2 qb in fa, is anyone interested in shopping C. Penn, to one of these teams that still havent found a reliable #1, say the lions, tampa, minnesota, ha or even back to the jests...

Hennes not ready yet. Let Pennington do his this while he's here. If he can do as good or better than he did last year we would be crazy to let him go.

While he may not have that canon arm and his acquisition was merely a result of some good luck, IMO he's just as important as the Trifecta in terms of instilling a winning culture in the locker room. He is the kind of leader that will teach these young guys how to compete and how to work. Sure, the team has other leaders with passion, but Pennington gets my nod for the player that has the most to teach. The longer Henne learns from him, the better off he'll be, and while he may be a good player already, I don't think he's ready to LEAD the team like Pennington does.

horrible idea. Wether you like it or not Pennington is our starter this year.

This is a motivational tool for both QB's. Sparano avoided a QB controversy last year after the playoff game by emphatically announcing that Pennington was his starting QB and that there was no QB controversy.

Now that offseason workouts are happening again, Sparano wants to motivate both QB's to work harder. Pennington by letting him know he has competition, nad Henne by letting him know he has a chance. But at the end of the day, Pennington will play all the meaningful minutes ... this is just as motivational tool.

It would be great if he could finally win a big play off game here!

not a good idea just like this thread, we are finally winning and you want to go away from that, what is wrong with you

Pennington has little trade value at his age. Henne, on the other hand may get us a nice pick.

You don't know jack about what the future plan is and even if they had a definite future plan at the QB position they sure as helll wouldn't talk openly about it. That would be more foolish than this thread.

Trade Henne, he isn't the future you think he is.

No, you do not trade away Chad Pennington. Henne may be the future and may even slide into the starting role this season, but you do not just give away a talented quarterback like Pennington. The Jets learned that the hard way last season.

Is Henne ready to step in and lead the offense now? Possibly, but I would rather Pennington take the starting role one more year and continue to teach Chad Henne. There is no real reason to rush Henne into the starting role just his second year in the league. He is better off learning behind a great mind and teacher like Pennington as long as he can.

Pennington had a monster year, and he created a chemistry within THE WHOLE TEAM. I really don't see the point in letting him go because of that.

i don't get it:confused:
shop who: Pennington or Henne?
surely, you can't be talking about Chad Pennington:foundout:
