I know it's a different era (bigger, faster stronger?) and D coaches will eventually come up with a scheme to at least slow it down, but why can't the fins thrive on short speedster-types like we have now (Parker not included), if we have/can find the strong armed rocket launcher? Marino was special but there have been others who could chuck it deep with accuracy.

We can but it's up to the game plan designers to figure that out. Seems like we lack on finding what works until it's too late. Let's ease Gesicki into the system by throwing him the ball more than once within the 20s and see what the boy has. The Bengal rook TE seemed to do pretty well last night so why do we have to wait to see what our high draft picks got? If we don't take advantage of the speed we have on O shame on us. We have to slow the inside rush the Jets will deliver otherwise we will lose this game and Tannehill ay end up broken. They don't have much in the edge rush department but their backers and stud tackles really get push.

I've thought about this alot. to me shorter WR are quicker at getting in and out of breaks faster. But tallier one are better at the 50/50 balls. I guess it depends on what type of offense you want to run

Because having only small speedy receivers makes the passing game very one dimensional, which makes the defense's job easier (just like it would if we only had big, slow receivers). Having one or two bigger targets who command attention actually makes the job of the speedsters easier and opens up more possibilities.

It's okay to have small speed at the primary focus of your offense, but you need something to balance it for it to be effective.

Side note: if you don't think we have a strong arm under center, you haven't been paying attention.

Need more impact from tbe tight end position if we are gonna play with all smurfs.

Don’t hold your breath on that this year.

I started an entire thread about getting Gesicki the ball early and often this week in order to be successful.

I get what you're saying but not having big receivers does Not make your passing offense one dimensional. In fact I dont think the scheme changes much, it just makes the QB more likely to throw the ball even when everyone is covered.
