I believe Cam Cameron tried that in 2007 in a goal line package against the Jets. Trent Green (?) threw it up for JT and the Jets defender was all over JT, leading to a penalty on the Jets.

If anything, he should be used as the Big Giant Road Grading Goal Line Fullback.. much like the Ravens use Haloti Ngata. And i want to say GB used BJ Raji, but i think thats a stretch... i know another team employs this strategy at the goal line sparingly, i just cant remember who else.
