Should 1,000 yards still be considered a "great" season for a RB?

How many rushing yards does a RB need for a "great" season...

Many times, the word "great" is thrown around on these forums. I was just wondering...

What do the majority of fans consider a great season for a RB nowadays?

I personally think 1300 should be considered great. But if you split carries (like Ronnie and Ricky last year) then 1000 is indeed a great season.

But if your team has one main back, then 1000 is good, but not great.

1200 is a sign your an above average runner and can carry the load

1400 is a 'great season'

1600+ is amazing

i agree 1000 yards isnt what it used to be. I thing ine you get into the 1200-1300 yard range then that is a great season. But also you need tds. Like Reuben Droughns last year. He had over 1200 yards but only had 2 tds can that be considered a great season? Its good but not great.

:yeahthat:

also, i think 1500+ is amazing

So many different variables, but IMO if your the feature back and stay healthy all season 1500 would be a "great" season, 1800+ would be "amazing".

only 20 backs in the past 4 years have broken 1500 yards. thats 5 a year.

id say 1500 is definitly amazing.

All depends on your definition of "great" and "amazing".

1,500 is great.

1,000 for 10 years straight is great.

:lol:

But I think 1000 is a good season. If a guy is able to stay healthy and durable for an entire season, it's a good achievement. 1400+ would be great IMO. Ricky had 1300+ a few years ago and it wasn't amazing, but it was good. 1600+ is pretty damn impressive to me.

1000 yards is an accomplishment for young runners but if your an elite running back who is not splitting carries 1300 is what you should go for as an average

1,000 for a rookie or a RB who doesn't get much of a load(b/c his team passes a lot or he splits) is a great season, for a normal RB its an above avg yr

1100=a good year
1200=what you expect at the very least from elite players
1300=standard for an elite back
>1300=great season

Martin has had a great career, even my hatred for the Jets cant take that away from him. Plus, he always came across as a quiet, decent chap.

I voted for 1300, 1000 yards isn't what it used to be, as for Curtis, nothing but "RESPECT"....Hall of fame awaits!
