Akers showed great talent before his injury but has been nothing since his return. He has major problems with LA HC and will be gone. He has one more year on his rookie deal in 2023 for NFL chump change of $1 M. Mostert is aging and fragile. I would take a shot.

What’s precipitating his being a malcontent? What’s the issue he’s complaining about? I honestly don’t know. McVay seems reasonable so it’s Akers unless proven otherwise.

I know someone who went to school with him at FSU and being a problem child is not likely. Blind speculation would be he did not feel he was ready to do what the team wanted. Just a thought. When healthy he was a feature back with more talent than anyone we have and it is not close. JMO

I’d like to see him run on that achilles a bit longer before committing. We’re good for now IMHO.

A low draft pick or picking him up on the waiver wire would be ideal. You never stop trying to better your team. We got taken by Edmunds, Gaskins and Ahmad are JAG’s and Mostert while not bad is not the back that gets you the tough yards. We need a guy like this that can get you a 3rd and 2 or 4th and 1.

No. He isn’t good. Highly drafted and big name players get 100 chances before they get cut loose. Look at Igbinoghene as an example.

Since coming back from injury, Akers has looked slow with no wiggle and bad vision, and he has no real use in the passing game either. Other than that, he’s great.
