Should Fins take a chance on Tebow?

You then create packages for Tebow, and use him for short yardage and goal line situations. It will give teams something else to game plan for and nice weapon on our team.

Indeed, in a goal line situation, imagine tebow at qb, polite at fb, w/ thomas, bush, or lex at hb. Lot of potential w/ that. Could even split the RBs wide, drawing the lbs out, and easily qb sneak it in. Wildcat's unbalanced line could benefit w/ tebow in the short yardage situation too.

Why is the Finheaven the only place you can't talk football cause everyone sucks. Brought this topic somewhere else and it was an awesome discussion with some agreeing and others not so much. How many Mel Kiper does this site have?

I wasn't around these boards during the Fiedler and Pornstache days but were they this bad??

I mean you can't go into a thread without someone having something negative to say about something of the team. Talk about Debbie Downer, there will be a lot of competition for that badge this year.

I agree with Slimm, if he is released we have nothing to lose, and I'm not so sure the wildcat is truly dead. If you have someone running it who can complete a pass, it can be dangerous. And the new rules play into the possibility of having a wildcat quarterback.

Why can't other people see it like you described it??? Because like FinAtic said, "think outside the box". Give the defense a match up like you described and I'd be happy. It's about doing what you can to swing the odd in your favor and if you can bring a personal match up that causes a mismatch then hell yea!!

But again, some people here just here Tebow and that's it. They are typing suck before the page even loads up..

Im not hurt about anything, its just unreal you immediately bring up the he sucks crap every time a topic is presented on the site.

I think a kid could come up with more valid points.

I never said I wanted Tebow to come in here and start over Henne. If he were to be released signing him and having him compete against Moore would bring some depth and compitition to the QB position.

You then create packages for Tebow, and use him for short yardage and goal line situations. It will give teams something else to game plan for and nice weapon on our team. And lets be honest who ever has followed this the Tebow situation in Denver knows that the Broncos are really pushing out Tebow. Check his stats, watch his play last year, he is not as bad as some of you are putting him to be.

What would you rather have Henne, Moore, Unknown or Henne, Tebow, Moore.

Listen, im not not trying to bash you but its hard when you say things like that.

When you are anointed the starter before Training Camp begins and your biggest competition is publicly put on on the trading block. Your team isn't trying to push you out, they are trying to quite the opposite....

But when you aren't ready to play quarterback and not only get outplayed by Kyle Orton.. but Brady Freaking Quinn also.. there isnt much anybody can do for you.

Its not about bashing "any" idea that gets thrown out on this board.. it just so happens that the majority of them go something like this..

Ba da da... Ba da da..... Sportscenter ticker scrolling on the bottom of screen..

(Player X) is rumored to be released soon by (Team Y)

2 Seconds later.... on Finheaven.

(Player X) is going to be cut lets go get him! He fits our team much better than his previous. Its not his fault, he was in a bad situation, and will be an impact player for us. Make it happen Ireland!

...........

The good ideas get drowned out by the majority of nonsense, and just because we don't like your idea doesnt mean we dont have "valid" reasons not to.

Mine are simple.

I grew up a gator fan. Now former Gator Fan for other reasons. But there is no prejudiced hatred for him other than strictly football.

My 3 reasons speak for themselves. In Tebow's "Ascension to Greatness" last year in the final 3 games. Where he "lifted his teammates to places Orton had not".... they went 1 and 2....

Reason 1, 2 and 3..... 50, 55, 44.

Tebow's completion percentage in those 3 "eye opening games".

The guy has all the heart in the world, but heart doesn't make you a quality NFL quarterback.

If you guys take a minute to look at Tebows stats you see this guy has potential, he has never been a practice guy. But when the lights come out Tebow has shown time and time again he will prevail. If I don't not know any better I thought you guys were talking about a Pat White.

Tebow started 3 games and his passing stats are not bad at all. 650 yards 5 TDs 3 INTs and QB Rating of 82.1. Rushing Tebow averaged 5.3 yards a carry, 6 TDs and has 227 yards, but all of the sudden the guy has become the punching bag of the NFL cause all mighty John Elway says so, please.

Tell me what the hell have the Broncos done this offseason that suggest Elway has done a good job and don't give me that lame excuse that the practice are the main story. If Marino was only to throw two passes in a game Cleo Lemon would beat him out and that is what happened last week when the Broncos played Buffalo, against Dallas Tebow drove his team down the field and had a QB rating of 85.7.

Yeah, the Jets run it well and burned us quite a few times with it last year. Considering that...I don't know why some people have amnesia about that and decide to think the wildcat isn't potent.

I think that is what some are not understanding. Tebow does not need to come in and be the starter, have him compete with Moore, use him as a WildCat triggerman, use him as a Goal Line threat, use him as a weapon. Henne is are QB and I support him, Tebow could be a weapon, is all Im saying.

The Wildcat did not work last year cause of the line, Fins have made moves along the line and if Friday was any indication of how this line can perform running the ball, then the Wildcat could work again. The Wildcat is effective in the NFL, the Dolphins have proven that.

I watched John Elway when he was a young quarterback in the league too... he wasn't exactly a perfect quarterback at that stage in his development either. In fact, he was awful.

Im not disagreeing with that aspect of the thought. But here lies the rub. Who is every fans favorite player (especially on FH).... the backup quarterback. Tim Tebow would be the distraction of all distractions. He can't just lay there quietly and play a few special packages... its just not possible. His drive and goal is to be the face of a franchise... and he has the same following as Jesus did in his hayday lol.

The guy has a following like no other player has, and people will be calling him to do things that frankly I don't think he can ever deliver on. But the idea that Tim Tebow just comes in and plays a few small roles and Tebowmania just goes away.... never going to happen.

With all due respect is this thread really happening right now. Trade for Tebow to come in and run the wildcat?

Indeed man, he's got a lot of upside and could develop w/ the right coaching.

Perhaps because he is a 'golden boy' type, the debbie downer's hater reception comes into play.

Agrees. Plus Ronnie never seemed to present a real threat to throw out of it. The Jet's wildcat trigger man can sling it, and he is faster. Philly ran it well in several game situations last year too.
