I'm pretty pleased with how our draft went because we got our FS we needed in Allen, and we got a pretty good reciever that could compliment Chambers in a few years. I am questioning the fact that we did not trade up in the 4th round at the start of day 2 to snatch either Darnell Bing or Max-Jean Giles. We still need a SS and Bing would have been a great pick in the 4th. He aside Jason Allen could be pretty scary in a few years. With Giles, you get a run blocking guard that can move just about anybody. He's a Larry Allen kind of build, and would have been a huge pick in the 4th round. All in all I'm still pretty happy with the overall draft but that 4th round will still haunt me for some days to come. What do you think about Bing and Giles?

And you would have traded up in the 4th round how???????...all we had were 7's left and next years picks. We did fine right where we were.

Max-Jean looks like Biz Markie....he is gonna eat himself out of the league.

We should have drafted Jon Scott instead of Joe Toledo.
Period.

This baffles me also. Scott would be a solid RT in the NFL. I dont understand what they saw in Toledo instead.....

yeah, i agree, we could have trade our 4th and a 7th, or 4th and next years 6th to get in the top 5 of the 4th round...

Bing is being moved to OLB by Oakland. Many teams didn't think he was fast enough to stay at safety with how big he is, and his lack of coverage skills. Maybe that is why our coaches weren't interested in him. Still a good value at that point though.

Bing at OLB? Hmm.... Well maybe that answers why the Raiders have such a poor defense.

This is what bothers me about the Toldeo pick with Scott still on the board. Toldeo played one season at tackle and was far from a stud.

The upside on Toledo is much higher than that of Scott who's a vastly overrated player.

I have to disagree Boom. This guy has 1st round potential and I don't see how going in the 5th round is overrated. His main knock is his lack of aggression and the fact he had a reasonably bad senior season in my eyes. He's still a strong, smart person who has the upside to get much more stronger and physical at the next level.

I don't see the first round potential in Scott. He has just flat out awful technique. The guy is a lunger and a waist bender. Watch him play and sometimes he gets it, but when he plays against quick ends he just leaves his feet and plunges and I've seen him get absolutely overpowered and pushed 4/5 yards backwards. He was mediocre at Senior Bowl practices and looked fat when he undressed. You can see him when he's run blocking, he doesn't have football strength and whilst he's athletic, he strikes me as someone who doesn't have what it takes to be a functional starting T in this league.
