In my wildest dreams, I cannot imagine us making any big moves. However, I have to consider trading for an OG, 2nd/3rd RB (like Mike James), and some special team's help. I would add a LB but, am trying to be realistic.

Thoughts?

If you were trying to be realistic then you wouldn't be thinking about a trade.

I think the biggest weakness is not having a big receiver. Trades are rare but if they could get a decent deal for a bigger receiver I wouldn't be upset in the least.

OK, somewhat realistic. :)

Anyone in mind?

I wouldn't mind if he shopped for a kicker, but other than kicker there arent many players that could come in and contribute right away at this point in the season. I doubt we would consider an offensive player like WR or TE....those are very tough positions to learn mid-season.

It would be a bad look if the team makes a trade for "now" and doesn't make the playoffs. Stay the course and do some financial planning for future. If anything we might be able to sell some depth.

It would be a worse look if we did not to help make the playoffs. We have $14M in cap space sitting in the bank, which is doing us absolutely no good.

Jackson in Tampa would probably be the best chance, but I wonder if the Texans would be willing to move Johnson?

If there is any way possible to shore up the middle of the OL, then PLEASE, PLEASE do so.

It's Miami's weakest link and if affects everything else the offense has to do to be successful: Running, passing, timing, everything.

Miami's OL has been DRASTICALLY exposed against good teams. It's been passable against poorer DLs (those w/o dominant DTs). Good teams are passable against great DTs and DOMINANT against poorer ones.

Miami's OL is passable against poorer ones and so majorly exposed against good ones that even a short timing route can't be run well.

Houston's thoughts are that there still in it (only one game back) of Indy, so probably not.

VJ is 31, and would cost $5M this year, with non-guaranteed $10M each of the next 2 years. Very high priced rental or maybe replacing a younger Wallace next year. Can't see it with Hickey.

Agree, it's a long shot, but worth asking.

Yeah would be a rental, but Miami would only be out for this year.

Don't know who may be available but a good OG with Pouncey rounding into form would REALLY help. IMO, Hickey should admit making a mistake at OG, and try his best to fix it. Next year be damned on the cap. How much has the big carry over space helped our team the last few years? None.

Yeah, I would spend $5M in cap space for a playoff. I have been a big defender of Hartline but, he is just not getting it done this year.
