Should I send Chris Long a msg.?

Hey guys.

I'm debating whether I should send Chris Long a msg. or not on facebook. I know its him, hes in the official NFL draft player "group" and thats how I spotted him. My news feed showed Ryan Clady joining it and were "friends" from when I sent him a msg. back during the season. I figured he would be a down to earth guy so I didnt give it much thought when it was him...but Chris is used to all that fame with his dad and his status in recent years.

Should I or shouldnt I? It would be really cool to get a response...although I'm definitely not expecting one if I send something off.

What do you guys think? Would it be rude? I just thought I would express some dolphin fan love. lol
 
What have you really got to lose?

Flash forward 10 years - Long is a future HOF DE for Miami.

Long: They're the best fans in the league. Except this one douchebag who messaged me on Facebook before I got drafted. That was really rude.

thats true. I did end up sending him one.

kept it pretty brief. just explaining how i and the majority of dolphin fans are praying he gets selected #1 overall and that jason taylor and joey porter would be great mentors. told him he had a gift and he'll be special in this league and wished him luck wherever he ends up.

we'll see if he responds. man that would be cool if he did and he ends up a dolphin! haha. either Long and ill be happy!

Yep. The guy is a class act. I had mentioned I would be in basic when his name gets called.

He said that what I was doing was more important than what hes going to be doing and goodluck with it. He appreciated the comments.

Awesome. Damn, didnt expect it to be that fast though. He must just be hangin around the house waitin for draft day to come, haha.

Well that settles it, I want Chris Long! haha.
 
Ask him whether he really is a Fins fan and wants to play here.....tell him if not, we are taking Jake Long.
 
reason i thought he would respond is because i actually sent his little bro a message on facebook months ago because hes coming to my school(fsu) to play baseball and hes also a football star(better than his chris). i just wished him luck and he responded real fast, so you know howie raises his kids to be well mannered, intelligent people

Yeah great family and talent for the game.

I hear he surfs the web a bit for updates. He does not go out and party like a rockstar. He stays in and chills more...

That is one of the many reasons, I would love to see him drafted by Miami #1 Overall. The money is not gonna make him soft or lose his edge. He is used to fame and fortunes from his upbringing.
 
Don't do it. If you're not friends with people in real life, don't talk to them on facebook. I can't stand when people have 1000 friends on facebook... and actually know, maybe 100 of them.

Didn't take very long for facebook to go from being cool, to as lame as myspace.

I didnt add him as a friend...he actually doesnt allow that to be an option for people until he communicates with them. It opened up for me now, but I'm not going to add him.

I simply sent him a message, he appreciated it. It has nothing to do with what you're talking about. I know every single one of my friends, thank you :rolleyes:

Chris Long just seems really down to earth. He said in a column I read that everyone thinks he probably would not work hard because he came from a pretty well-off family...but he said he wants to make a name for himself and not just be known as "Howie's Long's son." If we can't trade down I think Chris Long will be the pick.
 
Im convinced if we take him, he will be our new Zach Thomas...he'll impact the league from his 1st year the same way...and be all over the field, have an excellent nose for the ball. Obviously...hes no MLB so the tackles wont be close to the same but hes going to be special and a fan favorite for his entire career!! His intelligence is way up there and his motive. I'd love to have a baby Zach in the making...

I think people often forget just how important Zach was to this defense...300 rushing yards when he wasnt in the game last year says it right there. The guy is on the downhill now...but he stayed at such a HIGH level for SO long. He made our DEF. As great as JT is...he was the face.

how about people can do whatever the f they want? I think myspace and facebook epitomize everything wrong with people under age 30 today but I still have random azz friends on there because I really don't give a crap
