Just as the Jets were lining up for a 4th and 10 with just a couple of minutes left in the game, I was sitting in my car listening to the game and I was freaking out. Right before the snap, my next door neighbor pulls into his parking spot next to mine honking his horn and grinning from ear to ear.
I tried to ignore him, but there was so much commotion, I found it hard...and I freaked out even more. I wanted to tell him to STFU...when I heard on the radio about this first down catch for the Jets on our 11 yard line.
I cussed like a sailor, and the whole neighborhood could hear me. I thought we were on our way to mucking it up again.
Then...it was like the two minute warning...and I saw what my neighbor was so excited about.
He had a beautiful 5X9 point buck in the back of his pickup. His shot placement to harvest the beast was perfect. Then he showed me a cougar he took...and a picture of the animal freaking out in a tree on a really POS digital camera. It was like he was so close to the cougar, I asked him if someone had a gun on the animal while he took the pic. He said he put the gun down to take the shot, and then he took the cougar.
7 minutes later, I had my own reason to be really happy, too.
