I know we're a little weak in depth at the LB and CB spots. How about Takeo Spikes? In the 3-4 you can never have enough linebackers. I know he's only worked in the 4-3, but I think Spikes could bring some leadership too and he still is a very decent player. He was the 2nd leading tackler on the Iggles last year and although he worked through some injuries appears to be healthy again.

Now, Ty Law. I know he'd getting old(IS old) but he's still a good CB and I dont think he's going to be in line to ask for a ton of money at this point in his career. The only issue with Law is that I see him going to a team with better playoff hopes than us.

Any thoughts?

I believe Law was talking to the Pats and the Jets.

Not so sure he would even want to come to Miami.

As for Spikes I would rather see us convert some of the guys we drafted or already have on the team into LB's.

No thanks.

Had Spikes not blown his Achilles, I would have brought him in, but I think he's really lost a step...and I imagine that Law is going to be looking for an overpriced contract.

I agree with dlockz.Law might be worth a look if he isn't asking for too much money.I think Spikes might want a ton of money so I would pass on him.

I wouldn't want either one of them...what for? We're trying to get younger, the last thing is we need is "me" players that are just looking for one more pay out.At LB I want to give a chance to players Like Abe Wright and Mosses and at corner I'd rather stay with the younger guys we have.

Ozzy rules!!

I was just throwing it out there. I agree with you on working with the guys we have, but I was just thinking since LB is such an important position in the 3-4 a depth player like spikes wouldnt help. Imagine a LB core of JT and Porter on the outside with Spikes and Crowder on the inside of the phins 3-4. That would be pretty ridiculous.

Well I would like them if cheap but not because I want them on this team but rather just for Madden purposes.

I've been saying the Chiefs will cut Law or Surtain or both. Ty Law is 34 years old. He doesn't have much left in the tank. I'm all for a 1-year deal though.

Ty Law - 189 games, 52 career interceptions, 57 Passes defended
Michael Lehan(28 years old) - 62 games, 1 career interption, 11 passes defended

2007 comparison - Law 13 PD, 2 int; Lehan 7 PD, 1 int.

I believe he was already cut (Law). Now, if they let go Surtain, it would be a different story. I would LOVE to see him back in the aqua and orange.

No to both. Law lost his shine a couple years ago and Spikes isn't that much use to us. We need to get younger and not older. Well Miami is very young now but are more than a player away so if Spikes came he'd take experience away from the younger guys and this can't happen at this stange in rebuilding process.
