Just A Thought, Imo I Think We Should Make Ricky Williams The Number 1 Back, Just Until We Are Absolutely Sure That He Is Fully Recovered From The Torn Acl. I Just Dont Think That We Should Rush Him Back Like We Did Culpepper And Ruin The Guy. There Is Too Much To Loose With Ronnie And I Think We Should Take Our Time With Him, Think About His And The Dolphins Future If You Will. Ricky Has Been The Highlight Of Mini Camp And Most Of The Ota's Thus Far And Will Be Just Fine In The Starting Role. Just For The Time Being, Im Not Saying Give Ricky All The Carries Im Saying Maybe Like 60-70 Percent Of Them. What Do You Guys Think?

I think Ricky will see alot of action early in the season. This does 2 things. It spells Ronnie and allows him to ensure full recovery. (Even though from all accounts he is recovering ahead of schedule). It also show cases whatever Ricky has left to determine if he fits into the PHINS plans next season or two or if he has any value in a trade scenario. If he performs at a standard warranted an extension/trade it would be a win win for everyone.

While I think Ronnie Brown is the #1 back for the long term, I agree with you that to start the season Rickey should be the starter. There is no need to rush Ronnie back and slow down his full recovery. If Ronnie has a full recovery and Ricky stays out of trouble, the Dolphins could suprise some people this year.

Not a bad thought. I think rickeys reps will start high and slowly get less and less as the season progresses. However thats a big if Ronnie is not fully recovered, could depend what type of field conditions there are, how much running our offense will do etc etc.

I don't even mind having rickey play a majority of the snaps in the first half of games, if he produces, wear teams down, physical approach, then in the second and third quarter bring in the faster shiftier ronnie. That approach could show results over a game.

Either way, i agree they need to make sure ronnie is fully recovered, enough with these injuries, and how they deploy them is going to be intersting to see.

11-12 months isnt rushing a guy back. Especially with the medical facilities that he has to hand. normal recovery time from an ACL injury to be back running and training is about 6-7 months. so a bit of muscle rebuilding, strength and balance work and he'll be back to normal. his leg will probably be stronger. by 9-10 months you should be able to train flat out. after 12 he should be fine.

i'm all for that myself, allow Ricky to be the number 1 back, get the majority of the carries, spell him with Parmelee, and very slowly work Ronnie back in the lineup as the season progresses. it'll allow Ronnies injury to fully heal, give Ricky a chance to get back to his old form, and also allows the coaching staff a chance to see what Jalen can do for us...yeah,i'm all for it myself.

if ricky can still produce well (which i think he can) why rush our premier RB back if he just isnt 100 percent. I would hate to rush him in do great then get hurt again by week 4, that would kill me. I honestly think with disciplin, new depth, and a good looking o line our running backs could possibly take us to a wild card berth. This situation wouldnt be much differnt when Wanny and fiedler were around except we have 2 great backs and a O line to block.

And you were at all the OTAs and minis and have a great eye for talent?? Who ever "WINS" the job in camp should be our starter. Love Ricky! Hope he does win the job. Want to see that kid succeed. One of my favorite games ever 42 carries against Buffalo 150+ yrds few catches. Happy I could see him play @ Joe Robbie beforer I moved away. Love to watch Ricky run!! RUNRICKYRUN!!!!:woot:

How come you capitalize the first letter of every word in your post? Not trying to criticize, it just makes for a strange read is all.

As far as the starter this season goes. I fully expect that Ricky is going to win the starting job at the begining of the season. If Ronnie starts, it will just be for that first play and Ricky will get the lions share of the carries going forward. I know that many people want to expect that Ronnie will be 110% at the beginning of the first game but I am not convinced. Medical facilities will only get a guy so far. The rest is on Mother Nature and the human body can only heal and recover so fast. Ronnie may be running. He may be cutting some as well but it is going to be the middle of the season before that knee is fully healed IMO. That makes Ricky critical to this team early in the season to keep Ronnie from being rushed back to fast

I think you will see Ricky and Jalen get a lot of work in the early part of the season, until Ronnie is fully ready to go.

Well I really would like to see it be like 50/50. Ronnie Brown is a pounder and Ricky Williams is Qucker with a niceJuke. So I say pound the ball early then let ronnie brown rest and let Ricky run Wild.

Well just keep both of them fresh.

then in the second and third quarter bring in the faster shiftier ronnie.

was i at the practices? no. do i have an eye for talent? i think i do, im the wr coach for the Univ. of South Alabama. so i think i know what im looking at. plus try reading some articles or even watching espn or nflta. he has even said he isnt at 100%.

Its all going to depend on who Ricky is. If we can get the Ricky we know, everything will be just fine, but if age & grass have cought up to him, God lets hope Ronny is back soon..

Apparently "Proper Use of the Keyboard 1101" is not a class they teach up there.
