He is just as tall as Moss. What do you think?

Dolphins rookie Sean Smith is one of the tallest cornerbacks in the NFL. At 6 feet 3, he is one of the few players at his position that can look Randy Moss, his boyhood hero, in the eye.

Why wouldn't Smith, with his lanky frame and Spider-Man wingspan, shadow the 6-4 Moss wherever he goes in Sunday's rematch with the Patriots?

Especially considering the way Moss kept seeking (and winning) matchups with 5-11 Vontae Davis, Smith's fellow rookie corner, in their first meeting on Nov. 8?/QUOTE]

SS won't cover Moss for two reasons:

1. SS has probably given up more big plays than any other corner this year
2. Our coaches aren't smart enough to assign a player to each DB. Instead they assign a side of the field... as elementary as it sounds, all it takes is a coach to say 'hey, lets put Randy Moss on the other side of the field in order to create a 6 inch mismatch'. Apparently our coaches haven't though of this yet...

honestly Moss will abuse either one of them, they are just too inexperienced... All we can do is hope the saftey help comes early enough to make a difference.

If Moss gets many shots one on one with anyone on this team he's going to win that match up 90% of the time.

Vontae did a pretty damn good job against him last meeting.

He got beat on that one 60+ yard third down conversion, but not because of poor coverage, Brady threw a perfect pass and Moss made an amazing catch.

I'm not sure who was covering him on that 70+ yard short slant though.

Revis is only 5'11.....

Took the words right out of my mouth! We don't need a corner the same height as Moss, what we need is to be physical with him. That is how the Saints shut him down and that has been how everyone has shut him down since his rookie year. You have to hit him hard early and often, like how Sharper flipped him!

No matter which one of our rookie corners covers Moss they are going to get schooled. It's not that they are bad but they are inexperienced. However, after this season of facing some of the top receivers in the league they are going to come into camp next season far better prepared. So focus on the bright side of things. These guys are getting a good education from the school of hard knocks and will be better for it.

Vonte allowed Moss to 4 receptions but 118 total yards
and allowed Welker to 2 receptions for 7 yards
total 125 yards allowed

Sean allowed Welker to 1 reception for 11 yards
and allowed Moss to 1 reception for 12 yards
and allowed Aiken to 1 reception for 13 yards
and allowed Watson to 1 reception for 23 yards
total 59 yards allowed

Don't think Smith is fast enough to stick with Moss. It doesn't matter if Smith is as tall as Moss if he's 10 yards past him....

Here's the thing, Vontae was doing a GREAT job on Moss until he hurt his quad in that game. Once that happened he definitely lost a step and gave up plays.

Sean smith has giving up more big plays then any corner this year???? What u on dope. Slim?? What team u been watching. Sean got beat on once this year on a td against the bucs on a mistimed jump. And two or three amazing sideline grabs by lee Evans. He's a rookie taking on the nfls best. ****in morons
